as a "victim" of sandbagging, what's your story?
« on: January 18, 2017, 12:51:21 PM »
I bowled at Steve Cooks Fireside lanes one year for Another Baggers Tourney, or ABT and was in the Semi finals. Before throwing my first shot, I was down 40 some pins!

I had a good look earlier on the shark pattern (one of my favorite PBA patterns) and shot a scratch score in the 220's. My opponent, he shot 210 plus 40. But, seeing his approach, posting at the line, and switching balls to getting into a roll sooner doesn't match a person who is 175-180 bowler.

Then he tried to tell me, "nice game"????  lol I had to tell him, with the money he will win, I'll wait for him to be done and to have some side action scratch. He refused.

There's a Filipino guy who book was 160 at a Mexican american tournament and he went into scratch brackets and handicap all in and took it all even from Jesse :). Everyone showed proof to the director that his book shows him averaging 220 before with multiple 800s 300s.  You can also find this guy at norcal abts with a 195 average. Whenever I see him at tourneys I make sure I don't do any side pots. I was pretty salty when he knocked me out of a genesis step ladder with his handicap but felt bad for the scratch bowler who bowled a 280~ and lost to his 250 plus handicap on a sport pattern final..

I heard about this dude before......

I don't do the MA tourneys just for this reason.

Also, I'm not sure how true this is, but some have said a certain person who runs leagues and tourneys had stolen league money or something like that about a decade ago.

Yea not sure if true but definetly heard about stuff like that. Also hear lots of complaints of people bowling tourneys and getting paid in a year.

I'm pretty sure shady stuff goes on by more than just one person, they're working together. All the crap I heard was at the AMF house mardi gras, my first league in sacramento back in 2005/6 when I first moved here. Hanging around and listening to those bowlers talk - I was in search of a new league to join at the time, tourneys to compete in, and remembering the names too, made me suspicious of these people. From guys at the shop to the people in the settee they all talk. Those names stood out...I'm just shocked on why these same people are still running the shows taking the doughs....

Ah yes, the Amateur Baggers Tour. Bunch of dorks, usually obese/homely men and women getting together and sandbagging in their dorky shirts, wrinkled pants and jackets. Bunch of flithy slobs.

There is no way to avoid the sandbaggers, period. You guys think bowling is bad, pool is even worse.

I totally agree though with everyone that it is bs, but I also face the facts that it will not ever stop. Im just a league bowler though who rarely bowls a tourney, so.... Im not seeing the crap you all are.

So you don't want to bowl the abt at Bowling Green next month?
