Skin tape
« on: September 27, 2016, 08:23:51 AM »
I've been using the aqua vice hada patches. Not been too thrilled about the lack of adhesion lately. I used some turbo tape and that stuck better for me.

Has anyone used the genesis tape and can compare to the turbo?

The Genesis Excel #2 and #3 thumb tapes are similar to Vise hada. It's one of those things where you have to try it and determine which feel is closest. As far as adhesion, I haven't found the Genesis tapes to be noticeably better than Vise.

There are bowlers who have issues with tape adhering, and those who luckily don't. I'm one who has problems no matter how much cleaning of the skin surface I do ahead of time. I've found Benzoin Tincture liquid to be the solution, no matter what tape you use. There are at least six of us in league who use Tincture prior to applying tape. It really works. Check it out:

I will second the Benzoin Tincture.  Have had it for years after reading about it on this site.
Now there are a few others in my house using it.

It was a post by you that turned me on to Benzine Tincture last year. Good call!

Turbo P1 patch tape is the best I've tried.  The roll is 2" wide so I can cut across it to any width I like.  It's quite thin and sticks to the skin very well.  Just round off any corners.  It's designed for a fast release of the thumb.

I like the Hammer tape rolls myself. The texture is just right for how I use it on my thumb and as far as I know you get the most out of one roll with something like 16.4 feet in length. Haven't had any trouble with the adhesive either.
