Speaking of thumb (hole) tapes....
« on: January 21, 2017, 05:49:05 PM »
I recently noticed there's more variety of thumb tapes out there. I've used masters and storm. have you guys tried any of these?

Turbo Grip Strip
Real bowlers tape - silver
Bruns
Ebi
Vise

Looking for clean, longevity, and one that doesn't curl at the ends.

Ebonite black thumb hole tape is my absolute favorite.  It is double thick, so you don't need to layer multiple pieces to snug up the thumb.

I hate the Storm black thumb tape.  It is way too thin.

^EXACTLY what he said^. Also, I find that the Ebonite black tapes don't leave a residue like the thinner black tapes, which also tear easily when removing them.

"Smooth" on the label leads me to believe that's it's not like the masters white tape? Or is it similar, just in black?

It's completely smooth - no texture, like other black tapes.

Ebonite tape is great stuff---the only thumb hole tape that I use.

I'll add my support behind the Ebonite black tape. It works great. I buy it by the roll.
