Take it to a pro shop that has a Haus refinishing machine or equivalent and tell them the final surface you want.  It will probably cost $30 - $40.  --  JohnP

to get the most mileage out of a modern bowling ball try the following:

1) wipe your ball off after every shot.

2) clean the ball after every use.

3) have the absorbed lane oil extracted with a revivor or rejuvenator on a regular basis.

4) have the coverstock resurfaced with a haus-type machine on a regualr basis.

5) scuff or polish the surface as needed.

Greg -- If you tell people our secrets how do you expect me to ever get them in the shop to buy a new ball?  --  JohnP
