Strong pearl
« on: January 23, 2015, 03:14:15 PM »
My buddy is looking for a strong pearl ball. I told him to look at the Primal Rage. What other strong pearls would you suggest he research before making a choice. Thanks for your input!! He's a down and in type guy who suffers a little when he encounters oilier conditions. Lower rev, medium speed.

His ball speed does not match up with a really aggressive balls. He has a DV8 Endless Nightmare and it rolls out on him. His ball speed is about 14.5 mph, so really aggressive stuff really doesn't work for him. I'm very similar to him (game wise) and I got a Primal Rage and heavier shots no longer give me big problems. He wanted to know if there was similar.

Primal rage is good. Marvel Pearl, Optimus, Unhinged, Respect, Intrigue has less surface. the key is matchups. The endless is not a ball that covers boards and with his speed and without knowing any stats or getting to know his game, hard to make a recommendation

The Venator Pearl would be a great choice.

Melee jab for a symmetrical choice or exile for an asymmetrical choice. Both balls take surface adjustments very well. Surface is a huge key for ball reaction.  Don't Don't be afraid to add surface to a appear appear no matter your ball choice.

I've been amazed with my Dream. Haven't put holes in my Respect yet, but it's a strong pearl.

cheapest strong pearl (technically a solid, but some will argue that the black/gold is a pearl)
Ebonite cylcone
they come 4000 polished and its performance is way above the cost

Marvel Pearl and Optimus are great choices, but they are also very rolly which could be just as much of a problem for the slow ball speed.

Try a Motiv vengeance. It's a hybrid. Reads the mids and strong  move. Great ball

Why not try putting a coat of Factory Finish Polish on the Endless Nightmare?  It may help keep the ball from rolling out.

The new Roto Grip Hyper Cell Skid would be another ball to take a look at.

The Melee Jab is my recommendation. It's outperforming other pieces in that price point. Works well with a number of layouts, responds well to surface adjustments and has great versatility.

Dream, Rage, Vengeance, or Respect would be my choices. Even though the Vengeance and Respect are hybrids they will retain enough energy to avoid roll out on most conditions IMO.
