Team losing streaks....
« on: April 18, 2005, 05:27:12 PM »
Yes, I love handicap leagues. Following back to back weeks to end my Tuesday night league with an 0-10 streak, my Monday night team the past 2 weeks I've bowled has also repeated an 0-10 streak (at least with me bowling on the team). Sad part is on Mondays I've shot 778 and 708 in that stretch with games of 278,278,222,246,237 and 225 and we are losing handily.

Would love to hear other losing streak stories...as I beat a path for a sport league as soon as possible.

Scratch trios league 4 games each week.  My team went 3 weeks without a win  If we were bowling well, we came up against a team that was just on fire.  Unfortuantely our teams biggest problem is we can't seem to get 2 of the 3 ofus bowling well at the same time.

Last week we actually bowled a team that struggles worse than us, we got all 4 points

I bowl in a Wednesday Night Mixed League and the first six weeks, we lost all our games.  We got our first wins when we bowled a vacant team.  After that, we kept on losing.  In the second half of this season, we were having winning streaks, beating all the top 10 teams easily.  The problems is that we lost so many games the first half of the season that there is no way we can even get to the middle of the pack.  I have the highest average on my team, 155.  The rest have averages of 130, 105, and blind of 120.  I can bowl 200s and we still can lose.  I'm going to find another team to bowl with next season.

This year, my Thursday night team started the second half off 0-15.  After 4 weeks we were 1-16.  During that 4 week period (4 man handicap) we had 5 700's bowled against us, and many 650+'s.  Since then, we have turned it around... we have managed to get to 30-30 for the second half.  We still do not have a chance to win the league, but at $2.50+ per win per player... it can add up.

Our team average has dropped from 1020 to 955 in a 90% handicap league over the course of the season.  I probably don't need to tell you the rest of the story....
