Well, We had our season begins league meeting this week ...

And, The Brunswick Zone that I bowl in stated that if we want a one lane buffer on the low end of the house (high end has another league) the league would have to pay the house for that buffer lane. Needless to say, In all my year of bowling in that house, that was a first.  Houses have been losing leagues over the past years for various reasons, and this did not go over well with much of the league. I cannot wait till someone is in the process of an award score, and getting run up by an open player. Oh well, the almighty dollar in Brunswick's pocket while the leagues are now second fiddle to their Cosmic bowling and birthday parties, which is also the case in this center.

Thanks .. wasn't familiar with that rule .. but .. putting 6-8 league bowlers on one lane can 1. play hell with the shot and 2. take a long TIME!.Problem only comes up when there is no buffer!

My question would be....What if the house was full with a league?  There's bound to be a breakdown of some sort at some point over the course of the year....Would it be that big of a deal if there were no "buffer/breakdown" lanes?  So in this scenario it would be perfectly acceptable to have to move or bowl on one lane or what have you, but put an open bowler on a lane and the opinion is 100% turned around...

Thoughts?

I have no issue of not having a lane buffer between leauges. I do have an issue with putting open bowlers on a lane right next to league bowlers. The house will lose money in the long run if they do that. The house I currently bowl in did that a few years back and saw their leagues decline.
