What do I have to fix in my two handed bowling
« on: February 13, 2018, 06:45:12 AM »
Hello Bowling family,
I need your critique on what I have to work on as a two hander. I feel that I am low enough but when I look at the film, I look high. You can be as harsh as you want. I just want to get better. I am throwing Black Widow Gold drilled aggressive. Also I would like to know what would be the best drilling for me. Thank you ahead of time.

Only think I see immediately is the fact that you need to post a shot. Don't pop up, make sure you follow through and hold it. Your accuracy and carry percentage should increase.

How long have you been strictly a 2 hander?

I don't see adults learning revs and such...it's a kid thing.

You need more forward spine tilt. You need to have more knee bend at the finish. You need to post the shot.

There is no best drilling or best ball that will help with the glaring flaws in your game. Don't focus on equipment at all until you get at least some of those issues worked out. If you can't physically do it, then maybe you should consider going 1 handed.

I've been learning how to bowl for 2 and half years. I tried the one hand thing and it felt funny. What is post a shot?
Spine Tilt and more knee bend at finish. Going to practice this for the next month. Thank you guys.

Post a shot means to not fall off to the side at the end. When your slide stops, you don't move your legs at all.

If you have only been bowling for 2 1/2 years.....

You throw it plenty good.  Don't rush your development, a few tweaks, here and there will help.

Posting the shot means holding your form after release. In your shot you immediately stepped to the right, this causes inconsistent angles, which in turn...poor accuracy.

YouTube Belmonte's after release form.

I don't know the two-handed style enough to be sure but usually for me, not being able to post a shot means I am off-balance at the foul line.  It seems to look from your video that you are leaning way to the right and even though you have your right leg extended to the left as a counter-weight, it may not be enough because of too excessive of the body tilt to the right.  If, as Impending Doom says, you can get more forward tilt (instead of right) and more knee bend, you should be able to post easier.

The problem is you are trying to throw it with 2 hands from 1 handed body positions.

Honestly ... put your thumb in the ball and bowl the traditional way.  Your body will thank you for it later in life.
