What do Sport Leagues and Centers do about Pre/Post Bowling?
« on: August 27, 2014, 02:28:22 PM »
Just curious.

How is it arranged with the Bowling Center?

Do the lanes need checked?

It seems the best solution is not to allow it, however the USBC rules state you must allow pre/post bowling?

Talkin' Trash!

I bowled a sport league over the summer and you had two choices for pre bowling.
Bowling right after league and if the shot was changing they would re-oil or they would set up the next weeks shot first thing Sunday morning.
That was it, and I can't imagine post bowling for a league.

during are summer league a few years back.  We change shot every week.  We bowled on Monday night. So if you missed on monday they would put the pattern back out on sunday afternoon. Since we change every week you had to come in after league on monday or show up sunday afternoon. If not you did not make it up.

no post bowling allowed on our PBAX League, Pre Bowling is allowed but I beleive both teams MUST bowl the week before  after the league has finished bowling on a fresh oiled pair

This is what our sport league has done for the past few seasons.  Our league bowls on lanes 1-6.  All pre-bowls and make-ups are done before the league bowls and on an adjacent pair (7-8).  The pattern will be whatever was scheduled for the lanes on the week you do the pre/post bowl, not what was or is scheduled for that missed or upcoming week.  So theoretically, you could do most of your season's bowling on one pair of lanes and pick and choose your patterns.
