The live shows are being broadcast on ESPN3.  They will air on regular ESPN at a later date.

Here's what the WSOB doesn't need:

1) Cheerleaders.
2) Blue Oil.
3) Fake clapping.
4) Tom Clark.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

5. The outside being playable on every pattern used

I think number 5 is the biggest one.  I heard the scoring was up on the WSOB with the new patterns, but I didn't know why.  I was up top at the live shows and yes every pattern played rifled up the outside.  The only people that played inside were the people that didn't have speed and/or weren't using urethane.  It also looked like there was a decent amount of area. Out to 3 or tugged to 10 on some of the patterns.  Also seemed like they don't care about entry angle.. or it matters a lot less. They just hit the 1 3 and watch the pins fly.  Watching the replays the balls exited the deck all over the place.. Sometimes at the 9 pin or farther right(for righties) or sometimes at the 8 pin.  They were outside on the Chameleon, but then Shark was next and was the biggest surprise.. 45 ft.. up the 5 board... OK whatever..

1) PBA is grasping to get people to stay watching by any means necessary.  They think pretty girls in the back ground is the key.

2)Blue oil is still a benefit for most viewers.  They could do it differently that might be a little bit better, but I think it helps show the lane breakdown and carry down.

3)Fake clapping and chants just come across as fake.

4)Tom Clark is a nice guy to talk to.

Th blue oil helps if the annnouncers make use of it. They did once that I remember. Jesper vs whoever he was bowling. They talked about the difference of shot wear. You could see the left side was in way better shape compared to the right.

They need to start time-lapsing shots to show how they move as it breaks down. They hopefully have an audience with a wide degree of bowling experience. Time to start taking advantage of options staring them in the face. They do tips every show, just add it in where it's noticeable.

Interesting they have done away with Badger.  I think they are making the shot more playable from  outside to cut down on two handers starting out super deep lofting the gutter with sanded balls.

Don't really watch bowling (cut cord long time ago) other than studying some pros releases on YouTube so I am obviously not the target audience but seems like a real XFL like desperation move but whatever.  Guess when you are giving away giant checks with numbers on them less than many in the audience make in their day jobs you have to do what you can.

Yet they still make the shows.......you give two handers, angle, from out? They (the good ones) are going to smash.

Why is the gutter in play on all the patterns? Because no one liked watching dudes loft the gutter at the beginning of the block at the us open.

Shark, Chameleon and Scorpion never used to be playable for the outside. Is the PBA now grooving the shot for certain types of players?

You bet your sweet bippy they are.
