ZAPP IT BALL PRODUCTS
« on: September 16, 2015, 03:21:47 PM »
I recently ordered some of the ZAPP IT ball products and I have to say their customer service is awesome.  Woody Woodcock is the owner and he gave me a call before he shipped my order to let me know it was going out and that he put in a few samples of some of their other products, and a few more samples of the cleaner to give out to my friends.

I was intrigued with the ZAPP IT products because they have many products that are approved for anytime use by the USBC.  Not only cleaners, but they have a product called Distance that will add length to the ball and help it get down the lane for when the heads really get dry.  They also have a product called Insta-Grip that will help the ball have better contact with the lane on really oily lanes.

I called Woody after I received the products to get some more information about them and he was just awesome.  The number goes right to his cell phone and he said to call him anytime if I had any questions or problems.  I know this sounds like a commercial for them, but I love companies like this and this type of customer service goes a long way in my book.  I haven't even tried the products yet but I am hoping they are as good as their customer service.

I will report back on how the products work.  If anyone has used these products, let me know what you have found with them.

Their Zapp-it cleaner is among the best of the water-based cleaner. It is excellent.
I was less enchanted with their Distance and Insta-grip ball surface "modifiers". Yes, they approved for use DURING bowling.

Thanks for the tip on ZAPP IT. I just checked their website: http://4zappit.com/ It looks very interesting. Keep us advised on their products.

Jeff, do you know what substance is in "Distance"? According to the website, Distance reads like a spray. The website also states that you should apply Distance only by hand. Distance does not appear to be a slip agent like UFO. Did you get any noticeable extra length when you tried Distance?

Thanks!

I've tried the Zapp it products for a couple of weeks now and I am reporting back. A couple days after I received the first box , I received a 2nd that was shipped at the same time but must have been delayed.  This box had even more samples of products. He sent me a full bottle of his Ball Stripper and some bottles of Resinator ball polish.

I have not tried the Resinator ball polish yet.

I have used the Zapp It Bowling Ball Cleaner and I must say that it works really well.  It seems to take everything off with little effort.  It leaves the ball pretty tacky.  I will say that it does seem that the ball appears a little duller after using the cleaner

I have used the Zapp It Ball Stripper and this stuff works even better.  I'm not sure if the Ball Stripper is a more concentrated version of the Bowling Ball Cleaner. I am also not sure when it can be used.  I have a bottle that says it is for anytime use but I don't see it on the USBC approved cleaner list.

I have only slightly tested the Distance and Insta-grip.  The Distance seems to do what it is supposed to.  My urethane spare ball was moving a little too much because it needs to be surfaced and polished.  I sprayed it with the Distance and the ball was a lot cleaner getting down lane and didn't want to move early.  I also just tried it out on a Motiv Primal Rage that was hooking too early while I was practicing.  Distance allowed the ball to get down the lane a few feet farther before hooking.

I tried the Insta-grip on another Motiv ball that was going just a little too far down the lane and it did make the ball grab the lane earlier.  It might depend on the oil condition, but it seemed like you might be able to get the same earlier reaction by using a ball cleaner midgame.   I didn't really test this, so I am not sure.  I still need to do some testing with this product as I have used it the least.

I can see how the Insta-grip and Distance could be useful tools during competition when that ball you are using just isn't doing quite what you want it to.

I spoke with Woody about the ZappIt Ball Stripper and he said that this is a brand new product that he sent me to test out.  He has not sent it in to USBC to be tested yet but he is confident that it will pass and be good for anytime use just like his other cleaner.

I did a test today took the dirt off the ball way better than everything else I put it up against.
