has anyone ever polished a Jackal?

yeah, I took mine down to 1500 and added polish. It helped me to be able to use it on a heavier ths. But Im am still not a big fan of this ball. It is a over/under nightmare for me. I have tried oob, 4k, and 1500k with polish. If I play down the boards it likes to check up early and if I try to cover boards it stands up and rolls out.

The past few times I have used mine, I have had the same issue as 900DJ. Have not tried polish on it yet. I think with mine, having low tilt & the lay out I chose, is what is giving me the issue.

Very strong asym core. Layout on a ball like this is crucial for me or it won't do anything

I had mine at 4000 to start. I always change the surface before I test them.
I used it at a high friction house. Lanes about 1 year old. I was up against the ball return to start the 2nd game. It was a challenge to keep the ball on the lane with how strong it was and how much backend, even at 4000.
The next week I put polish over the top of the 4000. I made little to no difference. I was able to squeak a few more frames out before I was up against the ball return. It didn't change the shape much at all. It only allowed it to play in a little less oil for a little longer. The ball is a flat out beast!!!!

This is an almost ideal ball for drilling the MB in the thumb with a short to medium pin (3-4" to pap) with no hole. Too much core for most conditions, and the cover comes with what seems to be a very rough box finish.

As VK mentioned, its a very strong asym core so layout is essential, especially if no oil is really present.
