Carnage vs Lock
« on: February 09, 2016, 12:00:15 PM »
Anyone have experience throwing both of these or maybe the new Alpha? Looking to get an idea of differences or similarities. My current lineup is an octane burn, vengeance and a defiant soul. I'm trying to get some ideas to round out my arsenal for nationals and tournaments. Open to any thoughts and suggestions. Thanks!

Carnage is earlier and stronger overall compared to the Lock (for me). I have not thrown the Alpha (not many have) but depending on how strong the cover is, it might be up with the Carnage in terms of oil handling capability.

I slap the same drill on all my stuff, and the surfaces are both factory other than use. Carnage was much stronger initially and it has stayed that way.

lets go to the video. When I want to see a comparison of 2 balls I try to find  you tube reviews of the balls in question. I will choose to watch the same tester and look where he is standing and where he is playing each ball. Then you can compare apples to apples because most of these testers use the same house the same pattern  and the same layout on each ball. Also look for a tester the matches your style.I looked
at a ton of Motiv Havoc videos and after my eyes were bleeding one thing was consistent it hooked it hooked it hooked.I own a Havoc and for me it hooks.

Great advice on the videos. I will have to look for some of the same tester throwing both of these. I'm looking to add two balls for right now. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could use in my arsenal? My Octane Burn is laid out factory finish 3 3/8 X 50 which puts the pin right next to my ring finger. The Vengeance is factory finish 5 X 40 putting the pin right above the bridge. Looking to replace the Defiant Soul as I never really matched up very well with it but is drilled pin down right under the bridge, I forget what the dual angle numbers came out to be. I really like Motiv's stuff but I'm open to just about anything.
