MOTIV United Revolt Video
« on: February 20, 2017, 08:43:20 AM »
This video includes:
A right handed bowler at 17.5mph and 375rpm
and
A left handed bowler at 15.5mph and 275rpm

Description: The United Revolt is the fourth Revolt of the series. It does have an all-new coverstock, Helix HFP (High Friction Pearl), which is the first Revolt with a pearl coverstock. The inside utilizes the same dependable Vanquish core found in all of the previous revolts.

Reaction: The United Revolt is not a ball that will be thrown on the fresh and then put away because it is too slow down lane; at the same time, it is not a ball you have to put away because it is too fast down lane. This ball provides a very dependable motion and will be an asset on a variety of patterns, different layouts and surface changes will allow this ball to be used from multiple angles. Based on my last few years at the USBC Open Championships, this is likely to be one of the 6 balls that will come with me this year. Every year since the Covert Revolt has been released I have brought one, this year I think that the United Revolt will replace it. It is just a little cleaner and gets through the pins better for me.

Comparisons: First, I compared the United Revolt to the Primal Fear. The Primal Fear is a little cleaner and a little faster, than the United Revolt. I think the hook potential is so close that it will depend on the layout and surface to decide which one will have more hook potential. Next, the Trident was earlier and a little slower downlane, the Trident also pushed me a little deeper on the fresh house pattern by a few boards. For those that like the Chronic Paranoia or use that as their benchmark ball, the United Revolt will provide a little more length but also provide more shape down lane, so if you need a stronger benchmark ball, this is what you are looking for.

Summary:  I hope you take the time to watch my full video of the United Revolt, as it includes myself (with a moderate rev rate and moderate ball speed), as well as my dad who is left handed and has a lower rev rate and lower ball speed. Being in the middle column of MOTIV’s Ball Guide (http://www.motivbowling.com/resources/ball-guide.html) it is not condition specific as far as its shape, this is a stronger benchmark ball. Honestly, this ball has some GREAT shelf appeal too, visually one of our best-looking balls made to date!

Is that your dad? That guy is good!

Looks like you fed a couple into the friction early and it checked up without going thru the face. Nice rolling ball.

Great video, I really like the look of this ball, I want it to go with my revolt havoc which I love, would you say the havoc, United and rage fear was a good 3 ball arsenal?

I wouldn't. They are all medium-heavy balls. I think you need more variation. A heavy oil ball (Trident or Jackal) and a light-medium ball (Freestyle, Cobra, etc.).

Just my 2 cents.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

To this I would just add an "it depends".  If you only bowl league (3 games at a time) at one house and the conditions at the place  fall under this category and you are seeking three different looks for the same condition and you never need to ball down, then yeah, it might be good.

If you do tournaments....bowl different houses and different conditions or different shifts, then no....what kegler said.
Current bag:
DV8 Turmoil 2 Pearl
Radical Squatch hybrid
Motiv Forza GT
Hammer Black Widow Gold
DV8 Vandal
DV8 Creed Rebellion

Yes, to be honest having a Revolt Havoc, United Revolt and Primal Fear will give you 3 balls all in the same performance category, not bad for a consistent league pattern but really doesn't give you much variance...You may want to try something in MOTIV middle column on the ball guide either stronger or weaker than a United Revolt.
