Looking for a ball to fit under primal rage
« on: November 22, 2014, 10:18:50 PM »
I want something with the same general shape, and I am kinda sold on motiv. Thinking maybe the tribal or tribal fire. I want something for when my rage starts burning up, and I don't want to keep moving left or I can't move left due to above ground ball returns. Thoughts? I don't know numbers, but my rage was drilled to roll a little earlier, and I think it was drilled a little on the weaker side. My dad's tribal out hooks it in overall movement, and the movement is all in down lane snap. Dad had it drilled for extreme length and back end.

I would say the accent apex. Cover is similar just formulated to give more length and then the weaker core will keep it weaker as well.....

Some like the Sigma Sting under the Rage and some like myself like the Octane. I chose the Octane over the sting because the Octane has a higher differential. Lower differential balls don't fare as well for me as higher differential balls, thus my choice of the Octane. I find the Octane extremely clean thru the heads. I did have to adjust the cover on the Octane from it's NIB Factory cover and it has been a beast ever since.

If you are bowling with above ground ball returns, I would recommend the Ascent Apex.  The Tribal and Octane would both be the natural step down depending on the exact shape you want, but the difference wouldn't really allow to move significantly away from the return.

For this reason, I would recommend the Ascent Apex, especially since you say it is a little weaker than your dad's Tribal.

If its weaker than the tribal it tells me you are not seeing enough oil....Then I do the apex....I found cover a bit touchy for me(higher tilt), took to 4000 and its a beast....
