I was wondering which of these balls can be used as a "benchmark" ball. I know that every bowler is different and that something that might work for me will be different to another bowler, but generally speaking, which of these balls would you think would be the best to be the "out of the bag ball" for league bowling on THS?

Personally I'm so curious to try the Primal Rage and the Melee Jab but that's just me.

The Primal Rage can be used on a variety of conditions and it will handle heavier volume.  Some will use it as a benchmark and do so successfully.  The Melee Jab looks like it will be a good ball but have not seen enough of it yet to really give a good comparison.

The ultimate benchmark ball IMO is the Sigma Sting from Motiv.  That ball is sick on THS, works really well on sport patterns, and has helped me put up some great scores so far.  It doesn't matter if you like to crank it or throw straight; the Sting does everything you'd want in a benchmark.

+1 on the Sigma Sting. Same cover as primal rage but a  core that produces more of a benchmark type reaction, plus there's  a 2O$ rebate right now on the Sigma Sting.....

I considered the Sting before I chose the Octane, but I was throwing 12# and now trying to move up to 13# and the differential on the Sting was only .032 and the Octane is .047. High differential balls work way better for me than low differential balls, thus I chose the Octane.

I've been able to use my Uncaged on a variety of lanes. The Heavy oil patterns have not agreed with me using the Uncaged.
There are a few people in my Monday league that have been very happy since changing to the Uncaged.

There are better benchmarks than the ones you listed.  The Score rather than the Yeti would be better as far as Radical goes.  From Motiv, the Sting, Covert Revolt, or Venom Shock are more versatile than the Rage or the Octane.  The Jab however would be an EXCELLENT choice, but you could also throw the Melee Cross in the conversation as well.  Storm's IQ Tour Solid would fit the bill, Roto's Hysteria also.

Is there any significance to the choices all being pearl balls?
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Not throwen any listed but I would like for somethings middle of the road and then use layout and surface to be the needed adjustment.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

Id even consider dropping down another performance line and go that route.

Yeah, I heard about the Score and one pf my teammates got it two weeks ago and it looked pretty good. I ended with a Sigma Sting to replace my Wicked Siege and a Tribal Fire as a second option when the lanes break down. I was thinking about the Jab, but I got the Sting for $104 shipped plus a $20 rebate from Motiv that made me pull the trigger on that one!

About all of them being pearl balls, I think it was a coincidene... Or maybe not? Lol  ;D

Thanks! I decided to go with the Sigma Sting, I'll try the OOB surface and then I'll see how it works to see if it need a surface change, everytime I'm more convinced that the surface is even more important than the layout and sometimes than the coverstock.
