Motiv Jackal Rising video and review - 3 testers and 2 patterns
« on: December 22, 2017, 01:47:21 PM »
We are independent so we can truly say this is the biggest Jackal to date...

For complete video and review:

We have 3 testers on THS and sport pattern

Excerpt:
The Motiv Jackal Rising is a strong addition to the line up. It fits exactly as Motiv says. If you were a fan of the very rolly Revolt Havoc and you still have it, this is a great step up in terms of roll shape. Everyone found something they really liked about this ball. I found it superb on the longer sport pattern. Greg found it very effective on house. Sean had it working everywhere. He rarely looks at strong solids but this one has him rethinking this as a compliment to the Trident Quest and other strong asym pearls.

In the market for a heavy oil ball and up until the Rising, it was going to be the Sure Lock. Any comparison between the two would be appreciated.

Note to group and Tamer... BEWARE!. I just went to this link, clicked what looked like a watch link, and got a nasty attempt to hack my system. Fortunately I shut it down, but proceed with caution. Tamer seems to be a straight up dude but there's a bad link on that page right now. I'm not going back to find it.

Thanks.  But I just checked my site and it appears fine.  I clicked the link and I have no issues so not sure.  You might want to check your system and browser.  I also post the videos and reviews on youtube as well.  Pretty easy to find, just search it and we are 1st in the search results :-)

I don't have a direct comparison but did have both.  They both have a heavy revving nature but the Rising feels like it's revving even more or a more torquey in the midlane.  I also found that while both are smooth downlane, The Rising just drove more consistently for me while sometimes the Sure Lock felt like it didn't ever uncoil and get into a roll.  There's a bit of "digging in" that the Rising has when it's ready to transition from hook to roll that I really liked seeing. That's the objective perspective.
Subjectively, I keep the Rising in my bag for the heaviest oil conditions.

Tamer, no disrespect, but I've managed the IT department for 40 years. There's a hack there, possibly in a rotating ad on the link that isn't present all the time. It's up to all of us to warn everyone, since this one says "watch video" right below the post, tricky. I shut down and got around it, but when I tell you it was there brother, you can bank it. Don't get defensive, just do what you do, check your page, and I'll grab from Youtube as I have in the past. That's all, no big deal, just life in the connected world.

Honestly, I like the motion of the Ghost better. This just seems too smooth in comparison.

thanks for letting me know. Not defensive at all, appreciate you letting me know. I have a Mac so maybe there’s something that affects PCs. I’ll have my admins check it out.

that’s something that I mentioned in the video. The Rising is in the rolly vain of the Havoc. While generally Motiv is pretty smooth and I loved the Ghost, I can see how Rising can even be better on some sport shots.  But yes objectively, the Rising is smoother than the Ghost.
