Motiv Venom Shock, Tribal Fire, or the original Tribal?
« on: September 21, 2014, 07:36:54 PM »
Well, so far I've been impressed with the Covert Revolt and especially the Sigma Sting.  Because of this, I want to stick with the Motiv brand.  I'm looking to now replace my Storm Frantic after putting a ton of games on it the past few years.  At the same time, I want to have 2 balls for medium-light to provide different shot shapes and give some versatility.

My stats are: 380-410 rev rate, tweener, PAP of 4-1/2" across.  Speed approx 18-21 mph.  Love playing outside but can move in, soften speed and chase the oil as needed.

Looking at the Venom Shock, Tribal Fire and the original Tribal, it's sort of tough to decide since all 3 are really good.  My initial thinking was to go with the Venom Shock since it's really versatile on medium-light patterns and then go with the Tribal to open it up a bit.  However, the Tribal Fire looks good from the reaction videos I've seen so far and could go with that and the original Tribal.

For anyone that has used these balls, what do you think would be the best way to go?  Also, what do you like about them?

Hey tommy, your stats are very similar to mine.  I am leaning to the Venom Shock and Tribal combination more than the Tribal Fire/Tribal combo.  From what I have seen, the Tribal isn't really a true skid/flip.  And because of that, I am afraid the Tribal Fire and Tribal would be kinda close in reaction.  You could drill and prep them differently, but I would rather have the versatility of the Venom Shock over the Tribal Fire.
