Trident Shield?
« on: November 29, 2016, 09:05:02 AM »
So, what is this new Motiv ball called the "Trident Shield" supposed to be like? Approved by the USBC on November 15th.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

Motiv will not release the Trident Shield stateside #confirmed . I can bring them in after purchasing from international market and having them sent here.

Motiv might release another Trident with a different coverstock... that, I don't know.

Jackal Ghost... I wonder if anyone is rolling it at the WSOB  :o ... Chronic Paranoia was seen at the US Open, and likely will be seen at the WSOB on this whole week
Starting 5:

Crux Formula, Golden Gate, Super Idol, IQ Tour Rising, Pitch Red

I was talking about the Coercion HVP coverstock, not the Trident Shield specifically. I can't remember Motiv bringing their overseas releases stateside. Not like Storm lately at least.

I don't understand the point of releasing a ball only for international release. Why take the time to develop a ball and then ignore the largest bowling market in the world? Are they using the rest of the world as guinea pigs to test stuff? The Remix is due to be replaced and it sounds like this ball would have done the trick.

Overseas distributors do this. They essentially contract the company to produce a ball for them to exclusively sell overseas.

The LE wasn't truly a release. They sent out the replacements and a few distributors/shops ended up with the extras. But I'm just passing on what I'm hearing. Hopefully it holds true.

True. I was just thinking in terms of the current ball chart. From that picture posted before it definitely looks like a solid.
