I think they should have at least two females on each team and one of the two has to be in the lineup.


If the the ladies are going to make a comeback on TV, they need to start getting public exposure for the top talent.


Besides, in a short format like a two game Baker series, the top ladies are just as good as the top men.

I don't like forcing anything on anyone.  I see nothing wrong with having the women part of the draft and they can be picked if the team captain wants them.  But I don't agree with saying good bye to 2 existing team members.  Besides, the PBA is just limping along themselves.  If they were rolling in cash it might be a nice gesture to help the PWBA get going again, but they just barely have their own heads above water.

Well leaving half the population out of the event is a sure way to make the PBA stronger, right? If the ladies are bowling, more women might be interested in watching.

The PBA has squat for viewership.  Diehards like many on this site watch.  Even most of the average league bowlers don't watch the PBA.  The women had even less when they were on.  Forcing the women on the men won't solve anything.

I used to prefer watching the ladies bowling as their style was closer to mine than the high rev men were.  Unfortunately, they could not keep their pro circuit going and are now being bailed out by the USBC and BPAA for the current season.  Let the PBA set their own rules and if the women want to have their own pro league format, then they should pony up the funds themselves and have their own show on ESPN.  I would watch that but I fear not many others would if the past is any indication.

One could argue the current format (no women) isn't generating satisfactory ratings.  How can adding women make it worse?

I think that is going to change. I personally can't wait for the Ladies to Bowl. Much more less of the Tempers and cockiness.

I like the league idea, but the fundamental flaw isn't including or excluding women its forcing the league into limited TV shows - with every year the format changing.  This isn't a criticism of what the PBA is doing its just a fact of the business.

There are probably 5 women or so in the top 100 bowlers in the world but there are currently none in the top 40.  Given the starting point constraints at 8 teams of 5 you would either have to create a rule to include women (which by definition takes away slots from men in the top 40) or expand the teams which would make it even harder to coordinate TV time.  I'm not sure there is a better answer than what they are doing right now.

baker is the epitome of team bowling. go to any college tournament and try to fall asleep during the baker portion. one of the dumbest statements ive ever heard. i personally wish the USBC tournament would have a baker component instead of d/s or in addition to the current team format throw in like 15 baker games

Where did you get the right to call my opinion of the Baker format dumb? My opinion is mine to have, Posts worded like your response to my above is one of the reasons this site is going to crap.

As for Baker yes I find it boring, I would like to see 5 man teams go head to head for two games.

And if the USBC took away D/S at The Open it would be the end of alot of guys bowling.

Just for your future information I have bowled Baker in Leagues and Tournaments and the 5 man system just barely holds my interest while I am bowling. 3 man Baker system is more fun. But yea at a College tournament 5 man Baker would put me to sleep.

I want to see all members of the team throw ten shots not two.
