PBA regional tour question

OK, so I don't bowl leagues for a myriad of reasons, but I want to compete with the best around the area. So I go check out what the regional circuit looks like. There's this.

Eligibility
Participant must be a USBC Member in good standing. Non members must meet PBA average requirements.

So I am not able to bowl since I am not a USBC member, and what, I have to go by my previous book average to get in or what?

I think you would be able to compete as a guest, but may not be able to get a card until you prove otherwise by some means.  May have to have a regional average to qualify.  Not sure.

You need to be a USBC member in good standing to compete in a PBA event.

The next section should read like this: Non-PBA members bowling in a PBA event must meet PBA average requirements.

But if I don't bowl in league, but paid my usbc fees every year, how do you meet PBA average requirements?

You can bowl as a guest.  If you wish to join you will have to bowl as a guest and cash instead of being able to just submit an application with the average verification.  I hadn't bowled league in about 5 years when I joined.

Your first post said you are not a usbc member.  Your most recent post said you are a member, but don't bowl leagues. Which is it, are you a member of the usbc or not? 

The eligibility requirements to bowl a "professional bowlers association " event are fairly low. Being able to show that you meet these lowest of criteria isn't asking too much to bowl a professional event.

I could pay the fee straight to usbc and not bowl. I had to pay for my membership right at nationals a couple of years ago. I am not a member currently, but I could pay my $30 if I had to.

That's good to know. I'm getting up there in age and want to actually bowl against the kids before I'm too old lol
