First 700 - Radical Times Up
« on: August 19, 2014, 09:09:23 PM »
Rolled my first official 700 at summer league tonight (707) and it was the original Times Up to the rescue. Started the set with the Grease Monkey but it just wasn't matching up, hot and cold. I switched to the TU in the 10th and I salvaged a 181. Stuck with the TUbfor the next two and went 259 and 267.

I've really been digging the original Times Up (blue and purple) for some time now although admittedly I wasn't a big fan when I first drilled it last winter. But now I'd give my left arm to discover a current ball (or balls) that gave me the same great smooth reaction the TU gives me on my local house conditions.
Current bag:
DV8 Turmoil 2 Pearl
Radical Squatch hybrid
Motiv Forza GT
Hammer Black Widow Gold
DV8 Vandal
DV8 Creed Rebellion

I still firmly believe this is one of the best light to medium house shot balls ever.  Practice this afternoon and I was using my Hysteria for most of first game and was ok. But I had brought my Time's Up because I had not thrown it in a while (some times you just get in grooves with other balls). Struck final 4 on that game with it and then front 11 and flat 10 on last shot for 299.  Never got to the last shot before. Time's Up is almost auto pilot to the pocket when used in right condition. It's my second one and I will be looking for another to bunker away for the future.

The best ball nobody knows about.

Still have one, Times Up Pearl; one of Radical's best balls for light oil for a rev dominant bowler. Puts all the current Radicals to shame for light oil.

Very nice for your 1st 700.  Great ball.

My old one from 2011.

Haven't tried them all, but yeah, it's great and hard to imagine better. Kind of have hopes for the Rave. Looks similar in video (if not on paper).

Yeah they pop up fairly regularly.  Fortunately the seller also posts specs, which does come into play.

I believe I heard somewhere that this ball is a remake of sorts of the old Dynothane Vendetta pearl.  It got me researching that line and the core specs are certainly similar.  Looks like it was a well regarded series.  I'm sure I would have liked

Right now there's a pearl and solid in 15; nothing in 14 or 16.
I've seen many Times Up solids, not many Times Up pearls.

I've been watching it. Ideally I'd prefer a bit longer pin. So I've been on the fence.

Congratulations on your first 700 series.  I have both the Times Up Pearl and the Solid.  I really like them both.  If you like the Pearl, give the Solid a shot, I think you'll be impressed.
