Layout:  55 x 5 1/4 x 75 with a motion hole - box surface

The Ridiculous Pearl is a great additions to the Ridiculous line.  The Ridiculous Pearl works great on medium to dry lane conditions.  The added length that the pearl provides once you have burned of the spot with the original Ridiculous is incredible.  The hitting power of the pearl is identical to the original.  If you love the Ridiculous you will truly love the pearl.

The Ridiculous Pearl is the new addition in the Ridiculous line. For that version, they bring back the symmetric core of the original black Ridiculous. In the past, I had great success with the original Ridiculous. Loved the reaction/shape of the ball so that’s why I decided to punch the Pearl the same way with the pin a bit closer: 50x4.5x70. I use that ball more on house shot or broken down/dryer condition but I tried it on a medium pattern and I was very pleased with what I saw from that ball. I adjust the surface to match it with the oil volume and it was nerver over/under. It complements nicely my Jackpot (60x4.75x40) on house shot and my Ridiculous Asym on medium pattern. The Ridiculous Pearl has more backend reaction than his two predecessors and more continuation through the pins. Like the two previous Ridiculous, the cover is very surface-adjustment friendly. Don’t be afraid to hit it with a 4000, even 2000 Siaair pads if you need more reaction.

Ridiculous Pearl

I recently purchased a Ridiculous Pearl. My choice of layout was 85 X 3 3/4 X 40.
I also have the Black Ridiculous with the same layout but with a Motion hole. The Pearl gets down the lane about two feet farther. And hooks about 5 boards less than the Black Ridiculous. My Ball speed is around 15.0 mph. My style is a stroker or a roller.
I think this ball is a great addition to the Black Ridiculous. These two balls together create a great one two punch. Great job Radical Bowling Technologies

Here is the in the ridiculous line, the Ridiculous Pearl.  This ball uses the same core as the Ridiculous but the coverstock has more projection additives to get the ball longer down the lane and a sharper move on the backend.

I drilled this ball at 80x4 3/8x70 with the pin in the ring finger.  On the lane I play the Ridiculous Pearl 1 and 1 right of the original Ridiculous but the reaction is not the same.  The Pearl is cleaner through the first part of the lane but the ball gets a much sharper backend.

To me, this ball has the sharpest backend in all Radical balls.  But don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t mean that you’ll be able to open up the entire lane but if you need the big backend to fight carrydown, this is your ball of choice.  I would not play this ball on a fresh patern because you should get over/under because of the backend.

To conclude, is you want to have a big backend this is your ball of choice!

I drilled this ball pin above ring finger to match my original Ridiculous.  It's a great ball to follow the original when its ball reaction begins to go away and the carry suffers.  It's longer and more angular, but for me overall hook is about the same.

Since I don't have a great deal of speed, this ball really helps me when I have to get into the burn where the high rev players begin.  I can still get it down the lane far enough while storing the proper energy it needs to hit.

An excellent addition to any arsenal if you're looking to fill a void for a very angular pearl.

Specs: Left Handed, 15 mph, ~400 rev rate, drilled my Ridiculous Pearl 50*5*40* (PAP is 4 1/2" over, 1/2" up). This puts the pin above (and just to the right of) the bridge for me. I chose this drilling because I had drilled my original Ridiculous and Ridiculous Asym both pin down, and I wanted to see some variety. For the record, the original and the Asym are phenomenal bowling balls. There are no other lines of equipment on the market today that compare to the Ridiculous line, and with the addition of the Pearl, it has just gotten even better.

This pearl cover is a fantastic cover, its extremely flexible in the sense that it accepts surface changes very well! Need extra shine or grit on the surface, and the core still "plays nicely". Some cores seem to dislike surface or shine....not this core. Oh yeah, and the color is freaking awesome too!!

For me, I have found it best to knock a little of the shine off. Just a light 4000 pad, by hand, and this gave me just the right look to blend the lanes front to back. If you've read any of my other recent reviews, all the bowling centers where I bowl league, have converted to Twisters.....this has prompted me to re-evaluate how my ball moves through the pin deck. With my Pearl I have been able to play just a slight bit deeper than my Xeno, and still quite a bit left of my Guru Limited. Overall, for me, comparing this to my original Ridiculous and Asym, this fits right in the middle. My original and Asym are both pin down, and have different cover preparations. Bottom line, if you haven't already picked out a benchmark ball, or you are looking to replace your current benchmark ball, this ball will be a great choice for which to start! Once you have this ball drilled, please don't hesitate to contact me and we can talk through other options within the Radical Bowling lineup that will fill any gap(s) you might have in your arsenal.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 40'

Volume: medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

Likes: The Ridiculous Pearl is the 3rd ball in the Ridiculous line. This ball uses the same core (scoop core) as the others but the cover is cleaner (more projection additives) and the motion is more angular.
I drilled mine 55x4.5x50. The ball is super clean in the fronts, gets a little longer than my original Ridiculous but the backpoint is sharper. This ball fits well between my original ridiculous and my Freakshow which I use to ball down. The shelf appeal with the ocean blue pearl is really an eye catcher. Wow, thats Radical!!!!

Dislikes: Higher oïl volume.

Left Handed
Cranker - 400 RPMs
Tested on: 37 foot house shot
volume: 21 mL

RADICAL - RIDICULOUS

Layout: pin 5 inches off the PAP with no hole.

PAP: 5 3/16 X 3/16 up

If your looking for that skid/flip reaction, this is your ball right here! The ridiculous pearl is very clean through the heads and the mid-lane.
Stores up a lot of energy to have that strong powerful snapping backend. I have found for me that this ball is really good when you get deeper into your league night or into the middle of your block for a tournament when the lanes get chewed up a little bit, this ball seems to glide right through that chewed up area of the oil pattern. Also, for the price of this ball, you cannot beat it! That's Ridiculous!

Likes:  This is the new release to the Ridiculous line and a great drop down from the original Ridiculous.  For me the ball goes longer than the original and has around the same type reaction on the back end.  I have used this ball when the heads start to burn up in league or on short patterns.

If you bowl on a THS that is fairly drier conditions this will be a great ball for you to start the night out with.  If you bowl on something with a little oil then this will be a ball to come out of the bag a little later in the block.  Great backend reaction just like the original Ridiculous.

I was looking for something a little different with the Ridiculous Pearl and went with an atypical layout.  The Pin is located 1.25" from my Axis and very close to the VAL.  This tames down the backend reaction and gives me a ball that skids effortlessly when the head oil is depleted without being too jumpy on the backend.  I have tried various surface adjustments and have found that 2000 grit gives me the shape I am looking for.  While not the first ball out of my bag, the Ridiculous Pearl gives me a great option later in the day as the lanes start to hook early.
