Jackpot Solid
« on: January 07, 2017, 08:57:28 AM »
Well...  It was one of those eBay times when I placed a bid, but didn't really need it...And ended up winning the auction.  Oops!
Layed the ball out with a motion hole, left in box surface.  Quite honestly, I was curious whether there would be some overlap with one of my Fix's (I have a pin up and a pin down Fix).

Fresh house shot, decent volume, but drier outsides.  I would generically call it a medium to medium heavy shot.  Pin up Fix (asymmetrical layout) was playing 17 at arrows, out to about 8.  This was way too much ball for the shot as shots out to the dry early would burn up and not come back, shots inside hooked early!  The pin down Fix was about 14 at the arrows and about to 8 and had some miss room and recovery.

A few shots with the Jackpot and wow.  It's much cleaner through the front's and overall less hook.  I was able to play straight up 10!  This rarely ever happens.  The nice part was the amount of area I had..A little outside and the ball didn't overreact..Just smoothly turned over and hit hard.  Inside, it held all the way and finished enough to carry the 10.
Normally I don't throw for strikes during practice sessions, but I wanted to see how long I could go.  I threw 14 straight before I just tugged one so far inside that there was just no chance.
After this, I slowed down and moved inside..I could get as deep as 15 and still recover and carry.  Deeper than this, it labored to make it back and I started seeing the 2-8 family of splits.

On a house shot, the Jackpot Solid with an aggressive layout is a good step down from the Fix in strength.

Hope this is useful for anyone considering both.

I meant pin up or pin down what drilling angle and what angle to the VAL? And pin to PAP distance?

Yep..  it's "E" with my PAP being 5 3/8 over and 3/8 up, it puts the pin about 3.5" from PAP..  cg is in the center of my palm.    It would be something like 75 X 3.5 X 45.

I bought a couple of Fix's, but this ball is rolling so well for me, I can't seem to put it down.  Shot 759 last week, which is a big set for me.
