More Cash & Cyclops Pearl 9/5/17

I'm a fan of the color for the More Cash and if i actually saw oil all the time I'd probably get one. I'm not sure about the Cyclops Pearl as the few original Cyclops I've seen in person were already super long at box surface

just saw these but my question is why? Also, didn't Dv8 do the same thing with the Pitbull ( Which I own ) and the Pitbull Growl? I am not seeing any difference between the balls at all.
maybe someone with more knowledge than I could explain.

All 3 brands have done it recently. I'm not sure what their reasoning is, however, the Growl and Absolute Nirvana have seemed to have been more popular than the originals. The higher popularity i think has come from them being a little more versatile as they have more backend but still cover the same volume of oil

More Cash - Cash
Pitbull Growl - Pitbull
Absolute Nirvana - Nirvana

I own a Pitbull ( Solid) and A Absolute Nirvana which is a Solid but I know the Pitbull growl is a solid and I thinking the More Cash is solid as well.

You know what I think you are right.  Guess I just assumed it was a hybrid.  Shows how much I know about Radical.  That would be sad if all they really did was change the color and the finish.

I think you can liken them as so:

Guru Master = Cash

Guru Supreme = More Cash

To me it seems like companies are starting to get away from "hybrid" coverstocks, especially for the strongest.

Or are they just going away from using certain words like 'hybrid' when describing new balls?  Didn't they do the same thing with 'particle coverstock' when that got a bad rep?  Didn't someone state that they can make a solid behave like a pearl and make a pearl behave like a solid?

Yeah, that's what I'm leaning with. It's not like companies aren't still making balls with the hybrid (or between solid and pearl) reaction, just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of hybrid actually being mentioned. They're still out there of course but it just seems like their numbers are dwindling.

That's stupid because some people actually look specifically for a hybrid.  I know I did for my oiler (Stealth Bomber) because I wanted somewhat of the pearl backend (with an asym core) which could still handle the heaviest oil.   Hammer also at least came out with a hybrid oiler recently (Gauntlet).  Not like hybrids have that bad of name what with probably the most famous ball in recent times being one (Hy-Road).

But like I said the companies are still making balls with the hybrid reaction, just not labeling their coverstocks as such. It does kind of suck for the consumer not to have that one factor to look for when searching through the mountains of product these days. Yet at the same time all it takes is just a little more research to find out what the ball is intended to do on the lane. Companies usually are pretty good at explaining that. It's what bowlers should be doing anyways but that's not reality so it is what it is.

And yeah, it's not like hybrids are extinct. The craze has definitely faded though. Storm still makes them although with the R2S hybrid cover under their belt it's hard not to. Their other hybrid cover mixtures have had good results too for the most part (I think). They're definitely at the top of the chain in that department. It's interesting that they haven't had a high-end hybrid Roto Grip in a while though.

Goin back to MI 2 AZ's comment it was Radical (Phil I think) that said they could make a ball that looks like a solid react the same as a ball that looks like a pearl and vice versa. The visual aspect of coverstocks is pretty meaningless now.

A paragraph doesn't fit into a drop down and makes sorting in a table a pain as well.

When you buy a hybrid, exactly what kind of hybrid are you getting?   50/50, 40/60, 60/40, 20/80, or 80/20?  How does someone know what the ratio is unless the manufacturer states it?  If it is not stated, how would you compare one hybrid ratio to another ball?

Obviously you then refer to other specs but its a good place to start.  Then again I guess the technology is changing as you all say so won't mean much anyway soon.  Used to be you could tell a hybrid pretty quickly by sight but not any more.

As in I just bought a Motiv Untied Revolt and it's a pearl which is to handle Medium -Heavy oil.. So maybe Ball companies are phasing out Hybrids.

So in theory, The More Cash is a hybrid acting ball with a solid cover like the Quick Fix to simplify and show the difference between pearl and solid. With the all the old but new releases, I noticed the change from Solid, hybrid, pearl to just Solid, less solid, pearl releases.
Maybe it's a new tread at cutting costs in a dwindling market.
