Reax V2 or other?
« on: January 04, 2014, 03:11:26 PM »
Hello forums, I'm preparing to purchase a new ball soon and would love your advice.
The ones I'm considering include the Reax V2, Roto-Grip Hyper Cell, Storm Byte, and finally DV8 Brutal nightmare. I currently want a "controllable" high hooking ball.

My style is a definitely a stroker. Around 250-300 RPM and 15mph.

My current ball is a Cyclone I've had for a decent while.

I'd go a Reax 2 based on your stats and what you're after.

My Reax 2 with a control drill is the most controllable, best hitting, carrying ball I've owned PERIOD!!

Byte is pretty strong off the spot and would intentionally need to be drilled NOT to do what it was designed to do.

Hyper Cell might be too aggressive of a cover IMO.

And the Reax 2 beats the Brutal in the control category.

Thank you for your opinion! I agree and think the Reax is the way to go. My only worry is that they are now made in Mexico.

All new Radical stuff and dv8 stuff are made there. Still include the same warranty as balls made else where. The quality is as good or better then any.

Ok, that settles it. The Reax V2 will be my new ball, but I am going to wait to order it.

What will you have in between? There's a big gap between the V2 and a Cyclone.

I'm going to have to stick with my Cyclone for now.

Might I suggest a slightly weaker ball than the V2. Maybe a Yeti Untamed or Meanstreak Beatdown that you could drill stronger and still use in some oil. That way you're not going from Pinto to Ferrari.

I've been thinking about that also. My local bowling alley loves lots of oil, that is one reason I'd like a Reax.

I realize it would be a massive upgrade and change from my current ball. That is what I'm looking for, a challenge.

You share the same throwing rev rate and MPH.  The V2 has been killing it on longer patterns for me.  If you need a layout recommendation provide your PAP.

I wouldn't mind a Radical two ball arsenal...
Thankfully my stock purchases might do the "dirty work" for me.
