	elvismat Other Reviews	Posted: 11/20/2009 9:10 AM I picked this up about six weeks ago and it's paid for already. Ball gives you nice length, with a sharp smooth arc to the pocket. My ball is drilled 4 x 4, off my pap 4 by 3/8's up, pin above ring finger. The ball gives you nice length, with decent mid-lane and great back-end. Pin action is great, as always from Legends. It appears carry down really doesn't affect this ball, it always seems to find the pocket. I spoke with Tony Martin from Legends and he recommended the pin up drilling and he was dead on. Compared to the Black Pearl and Terminator, this ball has a stronger (more angular) backend than either of them. I hope it lasts. Thanks!
	dennis_michael Other Reviews	Posted: 11/4/2009 8:22 AM Well got the BD and have good success with it as an OOB finish. I use it primarily in later games when oil has spread. I get great length and finish on spent lane conditions. Last night, I took a 2000 grit abralon to the surface, and the ball lost its finish, and normal reaction. Inside, it sailed, and outside it dove. This is not the normal reaction I got with the factory finish. Any comments?
	dennis_michael Other Reviews	Posted: 8/31/2009 11:09 PM Got it last week. Punched 5" pin to PAP, with cg on the centerline for length. Needed this ball, cause my other stuff is too strong. The league lanes play like the Chameleon, and get kinda squishy in later games. I used the Black Diamond for the first time, and it handled the late game great. I got good length and a strong backend that didn't over react. Could have been a special first game, but in between the strikes, I left a solid 8, a 9 and a 10. I also left a 4-9 in the 10th which I picked up. This ball showed me it can handle the late breakdown of oil, and hold the outside without a dive. Just a controllable hook that is really sweet. I'll get rid of those back row pins and will see some really nice games with it. It has already given me confidence.
	jbungard Other Reviews	Posted: 8/29/2009 4:21 PM About the Ball: 15 lbs, 3 1/2� pin from center of gravity, 3 1/2" x 3" (close to stacked leverage), pin just right of ring finger, CG right and down from grip centerline (thumb positive quadrant), shallow weight hole at positive axis point, static weights: 3/4 oz side,1/4 oz thumb, 1 1/2 oz top weight. Prior to drilling: 15 lbs 2 oz, 3 7/8 oz top weight. Durometer: 75 �D� scale hardness on surface (no mill hole). Medium load Traction Diamond particle solid coverstock, Radius of Gyration: 2.559 (same as Black Pearl and Black Pearl Reactive), Differential RG: 0.055 (same as Black Pearl and Black Pearl Reactive). My Black Diamond was drilled by Joe at Impact Bowling in Sun City, Arizona. Characteristics with out-of-the-box factory polish: Not quite skid-flip but excellent length with a strong move at the break point. This is an excellent benchmark ball for me and is first out of the bag on fresh conditions, medium to medium-heavy oil. In charting my games with the Black Diamond: 79% pocket strikes, 72% in the pocket, 59% strikes. In comparison, over my most recent 453 games with all balls used: 72% pocket strikes, 72% in the pocket, 55% strikes. In other words, I hit the pocket at close to the same rate as I�m accustomed but with better pocket carry. Average with all balls over my most recent 453 games, league and tournament: 211. Average with the Black Diamond, 37 games, league and tournament: 216. To date, the Black Diamond is my best out-of-the-box ball. Highly recommended! 09/28/2009 Update: 300 game tonight with the Black Diamond. This ball continues to excel on medium/heavy to heavy oil. Low maintenance so far. I wipe it off between frames with a micro-fiber cloth and clean it with Lane Masters cleaner and micro-fiber cloth after each set. Hit it with a white pad (1,000-grit) occasionally and the BD continues to act and react like new.
	Pat Patterson Other Reviews	Posted: 8/27/2009 11:37 PM Purchased on June 25th, 2009 from Kent Wagner at Nationals. Ball came 15lbs-2oz, 3 3/8 TW and 3" Pin, ball is drilled 60* x 4" 65* which placed the pin just below the ring finger. This pin-down version OOB(1200 matte I believe), ball is very, very strong and very similar to a pin-down Dynamic Power I recently owned but got rid of due to the fact I probably wouldn't see enough oil to utilize it. This Black Diamond, although it hooks a ton, allowed me to move in to around 3rd arrow and swing ball pretty much as far right as I wanted(except the gutter) and the ball would still maintain enough energy to recover. FYI, I am not a bowler who likes to swing the ball alot(I am primarly a track player) but I could probably score well with this ball as it has excellent hitting power. I have yet to alter the coverstock on this one, most likely won't and keep it as my "Oiler". Also, this Black Diamond in box condition compared to the polish pin-up version(previously reviewed) is about 4-5 boards stronger and obviously much stronger in the midlane department. For comparisons sake I threw a pin-down Black Pearl(800 grit scotch-brite with Legends polish), it fell right in between the two Black Diamonds(2 boards weaker than the pin-down Black Diamond and 2 boards stronger than the pin-up Black Diamond). Ball came 15lbs-2oz, 3 3/4 TW and 3 3/8" Pin, ball is drilled 48* x4 1/4" x 38* which placed the pin directly above the bridge. Ball was highly-polished using Legends Extended Length Polish. On fresh oil(38' buffed to 45" using Control oil) on Brunswick synthetic lanes, ball was very comparible to a highly polished pin-up Terminator I had owned previously, it gets down the lane very easily, due to polish and a 4 1/4" Pin-to-PAP and turns rather hard once encountering the dry back-ends. Pin carry reminds me of the above mentioned Terminator and has excellent carry. Played around the 10 board and flirted with the gutter on purpose and easily got the ball to recover. For comparisons sake I threw a pin-down Black Pearl(800 grit scotch-brite with Legends polish), it was roughly 2 boards weaker than it, and a total of 4 board weaker than my Pin-down Black Diamond.
