Dare Devil Trick or No Rules Exist for possible lineup
« on: June 30, 2017, 10:29:55 AM »
I'm conflicted which one I want to add. I'm trying to keep this coming season's arsenal as versatile yet precise as possible if that makes sense. Here's the line-up I'm considering.

Red Legend Solid
(Possible Vacancy)
Code Red
IQ Tour Solid
Hy-Road
Marvel Pearl
Hy-Road Pearl
Black Urethane

Most will be laid out pin up 60 x 5 x 35 unless I have a change of heart before punching them up. Red Legend Solid is pin down, can't remember angles and is very smooth for my short patterns. The possible vacancy spot is if I decide to add a strong solid but the cover has to remain weaker than the 80H Microbite on the Haywire as I know I don't want quite that cover strength. That's where the Reckless cover comes into the picture with these two choices.

I bowl two leagues, one wood house and one synthetic, as well as about 10 tournaments.
Current Rotation:

Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl

Anyone noted the amount of change with a light run of a 4k pad to a Hy-Road or any Storm ball in their 1500 Polish?

I prefer to keep it simple so if I can just hit a ball with a single grit every 12-15 games I would be happy.

Absolutely, yes. I have started to do this with every polished storm ball I get. Add me to the 1500 polish hater list. Unless I have a huge wall, it is way too unpredictable. And even then, speed can cause major issues. The only balls I seem to have success with the polish seem to be asymmetrics.

4000 is usually enough to smooth out the reaction. Some balls I will go lower. I have 4000 on my Daredevil and it reacts nicely. The Timeless was much better once I took that down to 3000 (although I am giving this ball to my son soon). When I had the hy-road pearl in 15, it was way too over/under at box. 3000 made it better. Same thing at 14. I just had it hit with 4000. I need to knock the polish off on my Match Up Solid still.

Generally speaking, I go with 4000 or 3000. If I do go back to polish, it will be a lower grit and then lightly applied polish, just enough to give it a slight shine.

Between a Code Red and Marvel Pearl. Thoughts on any room there for anything else between them or a pretty good step between the two?

Both 65x5x40 pin up and OOB.

Current thoughts are a Hybrid Phaze or Hybrid Dare Devil when one drops.

I'd say you're trying to split hairs because there isn't much between those 2
