Haywire and Hywire

How do you all like these two pieces abd what are they both best on?

I have both drilled pretty close. Haywire for me is best Med-Heavy to Heavy and Hy-wire is a Beast on medium conditions. For me the Hy-wire was a little over-under at first until I adjusted the surface slightly. For me it is comparable to the Wrecker but stronger overall. Hope this helps.

I have both drilled the same. When the lanes start to burn up for the Haywire I switch to the Hywire and just move 1 board right. I could stay with the Haywire and chase the oil moving left but that puts me into the common track area. The Hywire lets me play to the right of the other bowlers and still carry the corners.

I also have mine drilled identically (except I didn't need a weight hole in my Hy-Wire for it to be legal).  I just tried to break the polished surface on the Hy-Wire a bit.

With my high speed and higher rev rate the Haywire matches my normal game best on heavy oil and medium-long patterns.

What was the surface adjustment? I'm going through the same thing with my Hy-Wire.

I started out with 3000 and settled on a used 2000 grit Pad for the surface. Good Luck

Haywire has never really worked well for me. I do believe its because I haven't found the right conditions. Nothing is quite heavy enough I've bowled on and I have weaker options that I can use for more than 5 frames before it burns a dry strip in the oil.

Love Love Love the Haywire when there is enough oil!!!  The hywire is good too, I had to hit mine with a 4000 pad

It was on a spinner. By hand would be rougher, I would try 4000 by hand.

I also touched the HyWire surface by hand with a heavily used 2000 grit pad just to break the polish.  Much better and is a great ball.  I actually think the HyWire is a superstar.  Extremely versatile and really is a great cover and core matchup.
