Wreck It & Hustle R/I/G
« on: April 16, 2017, 04:48:46 PM »
My PSO is finalizing my arsenal...Thank God (no more balls for a while).

With what I have - he is recommending the Wreck It & a Hustle. He's thinking the S/A/Y, but I'm more inclined to go w. the R/I/G.

Arsenal will look like this:
Soup (Heavy Stuff) - Hyper cell
Medium/Heavy - No Rules Pearl
Medium (Benchmark) - Dare Devil Trick
Light/Med - Wreck It
Dry/Light - Hustle
Spares - Spare Tire.........which is at least 11+ years old.

Any feedback on either of those balls (both Hustles & Wreck It).

By the way - my Trick has to be the smoothest thing I've thrown.....Ever. Good Job RG.

I would replace the Wreck-It with the Wreck-Em. The former is a lot of ball for the price/intended use. We see a decent amount of oil in my area and most of the people I know that have the Wreck-It are comfortable starting with it on the fresh. Even the lefties. There was some thought that the early batches of that ball came at a lower grit than advertised and that's why they were so strong but I don't think that's the case. It's just powerful. On the other hand a Wreck-Em is pretty clean and should fit in that arsenal very nicely. Still strong on the backend, but most balls in that mold are these days.

A Hustle might be a bit much too. It has a fairly strong core paired with covers that aren't all that weak. Out of the Storm family I might be more inclined to go with a Tropical Storm for truly dry and light conditions. Maybe even a Pitch Black or Pitch Blue depending on how you match up with urethanes.

CoorZero was pretty spot on. I'd recommend the Wreck Em for medium-light as it offers great use to most people on those conditions. It can cover a good amount of boards, but that core seems to pick up a roll for everyone.

Do a Hectic for light to medium and then a Tropical for light.  Even the Wreck Em is too much ball for light to medium, the whole Wrecker/Wreck series could fit into Storm's Thunder line, and the Hustles aren't good balls besides being WAY too strong for light oil.

I think Luke has it here.  He knows better than most on a true light, light-medium etc.  From what I have seen the Hectic is a great light-medium ball and Tropical true light condition.   The Hustle's total hook is way more than what is needed for true light more light-medium balls.  The Wreck-It medium-heavy and Wreck 'Em medium.

Yep...  Just picked up a Hustle RIG for the drier spring/summer shot at my house.  This ball covers a lot of boards on the backend.  It's probably more than you are looking for in your light oil slot.

I have the Wreck-it. Other than very heavy oil, this ball is pretty strong for a THS. I can start with it, most of the time, then depending on carry down I usually ball up.

A few of you summed it up .... I purchased the Wreck-it for medium, and the Hustle RIG for light... BIG MISTAKE with both... Ended up using a mix for light, and a freak show for med/light.  :-\

If anybody looks for weaker pieces, STAY AWAY from Roto Grip;  Far too much ball for the price points!!!
