Tech Talk EP1: So Many New Balls! (Recap Video)
« on: April 04, 2017, 08:52:43 AM »
I've made a recap video of the balls that have come out since November from Storm/Roto (excluding the pearl Hustles).  8 releases in total in just a bit more than 5 months, and I imagine we're not too far away from a few more, so I made this just to sum up everything, or give you the "short" version.

Well done. Love the short and to the point reviews and ball motion videos.  I've throw all of the balls mentioned, and you give a very accurate synopsis on each. Hope you do more.

Bowling ball companies have been doing this for the past 25yrs.. It's nothing new.. I think one year w/ all companies combined there were 150 new balls..

Just an outstanding, honest, recap video.  Your video reviews are by far my favorite ones.  Keep up the excellent work.

great video. I do think you overstated the NRP, that ball def has some flaws, especially shiny.

Northface, out of curiosity what issues do you see with the NRP? Thx

I've had way more success on fresh, long sport patterns i.e. Scorpion or Shark than I have on house. On fresh house it's just not this perfect ball he made it out to be. It 4 pins or 2-8-10s on the black and white nature of house shots. It's much better when the lanes transition and you have Big hold (down lane) and defined swing.

Almost any ball looks good on the ths! If the nrp looks good when there's a long pattern, no wonder it's evil on the house shot.

I'm with NF my NRP is squirty as heck, and a ten pin leaving machine sometimes!!!!! I feel it would be best at 4000 sanded not polished..

Mine has worked great on our house shot where I bowl 4 leagues at. However, I did see a little of what you are talking about when I subbed at another house and at an out of town family doubles tournament.

NRP needs volume, I don't get to use it very often unless I have the volume I need, otherwise yeah, it's tough to zone it in on a THS that doesn't have the volume for it.  That's why I said it's the biggest hooking pearl I've ever thrown, it needs much more volume than you might think.  Wouldn't be surprised at it being over/under on drier conditions, but that's not what it's designed for . .

Great reviews! Thank you for putting this together, extremely helpful!

I hit my NRP with a 3000 abralon pad and it has been unstoppable ever since.  I am seriously impressed with how versatile it is.  I was one of two bowlers that shot 300 with it on Sunday at a county tournament.  The DD Trick is the next one on my list, IQ Tour 2.0 = drool
