seismic compared to?
« on: June 22, 2013, 06:04:57 AM »
Ive used alot of different companies starting with Columbia in the early 90's, to ebonite, storm, and now I have been using DV8 and radical. NOBODY in my area (Long Island) uses Seismic. I am interested in the Venator but what can I expect quality wise from Seismic compared to the more National brands?
Thanks

Seismic is poured by 900Global so you can expect the same quality that goes into products such as 900Global and AMF. I have been throwing Seismic for 2 years now and am very happy with the product and company as a whole. The covers hold up very well with minimal maintenance. These covers also take very well to surface changes giving the bowler the ability to make changes with confidence.

Seismic also takes a lot of pride in being a smaller company that puts great effort into the R&D side of the house. All things from Seismic are truly new and unique to the brand. Seismic also doesn't believe in just pumping the market with balls. Usually 4 balls a year is all you will see. I feel this allows the bowler to have time with each piece to truly get to know what it can do, thus knowing his/her arsenal better. This also helps make it easier on the wallet to keep up with releases.

Another great thing about Seismic is when you email them with questions or concerns it goes straight to the top. You don't get replies back from a a guy that is paid to sit and read emails. One of the head guys reads and responds to all emails.

That's the difference I see with them.

Quality wise, Seismic is just as good.  I've never had cover issues or cracking issues.  I do bowl a lot, 3 leagues a week plus practice and usually 2 tournaments a month.  I take care of my equipment and haven't had any major issues.  I still have my first Blackout, which has a shit ton of games on it, and still going.  It was by far the best rolling piece they made.

Before joining Seismic, I was throwing nothing but 900 Global and AMF.  What I have found is that the Seismic equipment roll a lot truer than any other brands.  They are not your typical "go long and snap" pieces or your super hook monsters.  Essentially each piece from Seismic is made for a specific reason and to compensate one another.

Built for sport conditions, but usable on your typical THS.  Each piece is easy to read the "Skid", "Hook" and "Roll" phases of the ball motion.  Making it easier to catch lane transitions and burnout.

I was like you, no one in the area threw Seismic, I gave them a chance and the Requiem was a phenomenal piece on sport conditions, the Solaris I was so-so with.  And when the other pieces came out and I was able to build an arsenal of Seismic stuff, I did so.  And haven't looked back.  It was tough to do, because I was loving the AMF stuff they were coming out with, the Grip, Double Clutch Pearl, Mega Recovery, and in my opinion the OMG was/is on of my favorite all time balls.  Sanded it was a beast, and polished it was still smooth as butter on the THS

The Venator is built for your medium/heavy house shots or your medium to long sport conditions.  For me it was an excellent piece on the Shark pattern this past week.  And I was even able to throw it on a fresh THS, and it scored well.  I was deeper than most, but the polished cover helped get the Venator through the heads and down to the breakpoint with no worries.

Take the plunge, you'll be happy you did ;)

Seismic is an amazing company producing amazing equipment. Easily a match for anything on market today. I have seen no ball death and i only use rubbing alcohol to clean the stuff.

I have put up more scores and made more money tournaments since i started with Seismic than i have using any other companies stuff.

Give a Venator a try the ball is a monster, or a Long Horn if you are looking for a good strong pearl, it is probably the most explosive pearl ball i have used in years. And if you want control that is covered as well Raging Bull Charged is a very controllable pearl. The Dominion is a strong solid potentially a big hooking early rolling ball But is very smooth off the spot.
