Well welcome to Arlington. Forum bowl in Grand Prairie is awesome in leagues and tourneys and J & R Pro shop inside is first class. Alot of good areas to live in. I live in Mansfield because they have the best schools IMO in the area unless you go north a little ways. HEB has good schools.

300 dan.... Welcome to Arlington, the DFW Metroplex, and to Texas.

The city of Arlington is in Tarrant County and there are plenty of good bowling centers in Tarrant County.  All of the bowling centers in Tarrant County belong to the North Central Texas Bowling Association.  Here's a link to their website:   www.nctusbc.com  It will list all of the bowling centers and their league schedules.

There are other good pro shops in the area as well.

Del & Carolyn Ballard own the pro shops at Brunswick Watauga, Brunswick Westcreek, and Cowtown.

Ron Williams owns the pro shop at Cityview in south Fort Worth.

And I've also used Wick's Pro Shop located at USA Bowl in Dallas.  It's owned by  Tom Wicks.  Tom is great and has a good following of bowlers.

I agree with Bowl_Freak about there being a lot of areas to live in.  I live in northeast Tarrant County which consists of Arlington, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, North Richland Hills, Grapevine, Colleyville, Keller, and Southlake.

The school districts are Arlington ISD , Birdville ISD, HEB ISD, GC ISD, Keller ISD, and Southlake ISD.  And all of them are good IMHO.

If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a line at john.curry@charter.net

Hope this helps.

Well I finally made it to Texas, any suggestions for summer leagues. Looking for a competitive league (if possible) and maybe a youth/adult league. We bought a house in the Arlington area but not apposed to traveling for a good league.

Thanks guys

Welcome finally to Texas. Check out Forum Bowl Wed nites over summer. Trio league, 4 gms. Always packed so signup early. Pretty competitive and im gonna say decent money for top teams. Or you can look into AMF Showplace in Euless, or the new Bowlmor if they call it that.
