This was a pretty good video. I liked seeing the different styles throwing the ball. But I still see a few issues. For the most part, each bowler threw shots that were wildly different at the breakpoint. For example, the shot of Q....he missed at least 5-6 boards at the breakpoint between his shots. Now because of the angle and distance the video was shot, it's hard to see if any of the bowlers missed at the arrows by these same margins. So there is no way of knowing if the break point miss room was because of the ball, or because it was THS. Which leads to point #2, if possible, especially a ball as strong as the Crux is supposed to be, show it on a more challenging pattern. I have read/saw numerous reviews saying the Crux was too strong for most THS...yet here we have 5 people throwing it on THS. It would show more of the balls potential if we saw people having miss room on a tougher shot, versus THS. But overall a solid video, good use of multiple styles. Just a few tweaks and I think you will have the chance to make some really excellent videos. JMHO.

I LOVE this video!! This shows you a multitude of styles, playing an array of angles with this ball that still seem to carry well. I am not concerned with whether they hit their mark consistently or whether they reached their breakpoint consistently......because none of us are pro bowlers, and this is what actually happens during league play! None of these bowlers had a perfect release.

I noticed that the majority of layouts are pin down layouts which really speaks to the huge overall strength of this ball. I'd say that with the right layout for your style this ball is a winner.....even on THS....and it carries extremely well. Thanks Advanced Bowling Solutions!

I'm just curious, how do we know what his/her breakpoint target is? I have always assumed these videos showed how the ball looks from various angles.

Great comments and observations above about those playing the oil line and those playing the center of the crown.

The big handed well matched boys with both hand and speed always create area on a crown and even a sport shot when they find the right ball and right place to stand.  See Jason Belmonte and Pete Webber creating area on sport conditions!

As a wise sage in bowling once said.  He with a lot of hand and some accuracy is better than he with little hand and just a bit of accuracy too!

The same applies in Golf, baseball pitching, Football quarterbacking etc.  I can expand on these thoughts on other sports if need be.

Milo,
I don't know what thier targets were, but I just am going by what I saw. Especially Q, one shot goes out to what looks like 3-4, another is at 8-9. It may be by design. Is it the ball creating that. Or is it the THS?

True, but I know when I try out a new ball, I will attempt different angles to see how well I can carry. I'm under the impression that these videos are compilations of quite a few throws to get a couple of quality shots.

But as to your question, I would guess that THS has a lot to do with it.

I love the format of this video though, all the different styles really give an idea about the ball, even on a house shot.

Milo,
I totally agree that the format is great. THe multiple styles is a great way to get different looks at the ball. I always believe videos should show a ball on a tougher pattern as well as THS. While THS may be what most people bowl on....the tougher patterns will do more to highlight the strengths of the ball that is being tested, especially in the case of a stronger ball like the Crux.

Yea, that's for sure. I have a Hyper Cell and only use it for my PBA league, and only a few of those. Same with my Primal Rage. I have better stuff for THS, at least for my style.
