Ball between Phaze 2 and IQ Tour 30

Looking for something to combat carrydown on a THS/Sport Patterns. Typically start THS Leagues with an IQ Tour 30 but it tends to have an over-under reaction after the first game. Also leaves a lot of weak 10 pins.

Phaze 2 seems to work well but revs early and leaves a lot of 10 pins. Great ball for longer patterns.

Looking for any recommendations on which Storm/Roto Grip ball would be a good fit to bridge the gap. I prefer more of a power arc ball motion.

Right Handed
Speed: 16.5-18 MPH
RPM: 375-400

Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

pin down Show Off gets my vote .  Awesome ball for me. Fits nicely between my Alpha Crux and Venom Shock.

I'm going to go against the grain here.

I tend to prefer to play league carrydown with a similar strength cover with a bigger core. Carrydown literally means you've carried oil from the front of the lane to the back. Going to a ball with a ton of surface or cover strength is just going to bleed energy in the front where the oil is depleting.  You're already seeing that with your phase.

Go with a Code Red or Code Black, probably with shine knocked off with 3000 or 4000. Marvel Pearl could work too, but I prefer to go bigger on the core than that on carrydown.

Note: this is for typical league carrydown. Post-little-kid-birthday carrydown is an entirely different animal.

I agree with the assessment based on what the op is seeing. Needs more core than the IQ30 and less cover  than the Phaze2

I understand your assessment, however based on the factors that you have mentioned, I feel imo that all 3 of these pieces would be too close to one another, causing confusion to the op, where he may not see much of a difference.

Not so much about having something between the 2.  You need a a different shape.  Marvel Pearl is very good for me when I move in and need a little more pop off the break point compared to my Phase 2.

It all depends on the bowler, and how they throw the ball. Marvel pearl is better for clean backends and either a decent volume up front, or a slicker oil, for me, as it is really smooth becasue of the stronger cover. Yep, with the prefix that I'm speculating so that maybe the OP will find it worth while to wait and see if that one does fit the bill.
