The right fit
« on: March 06, 2017, 12:12:32 AM »
So I am looking for a pearl for when I need to ball down from the Code Black.  It is the best ball I have ever thrown, but I am really unsure on where to go when it starts becoming to uncontrollable.  My current thoughts are between: Hy-Road Pearl, IQ Tour 30, Rocketship, and Timeless. Based on my current arsenal, what would be the best ball to complete it?
Current Arsenal - Sure Lock, Code Black, Code Red, Hy-Road Pearl, IQ Tour Fusion, IQ Tour, Ride, Ice

Now Testing - Son!Q
Considering - Pitch Black

Any of them. If you're will to spend the money just go with the timeless. They're all good options but that one just comes in with a way higher price

I'm not sure you would see enough of a step down from the Code Black with the Timeless. That's a fairly strong ball itself and will probably be nearly as uncontrollable as the Code Black when the shot goes away. The Hy-Road Pearl and !Q Tour 30 are good options. I would consider the Wreck-Em too though. That ball is probably the most natural step down.

Consider a Roto Grip Dare Devil or Hywire as well, Dare Devil as a benchmark to start with where you can determine rather to ball up or down from there.

Thanks for the ideas everybody.  Price isn't a huge concern for me except for no matter how much I spend that I want to try to avoid a dud.  I liked the Timeless for a bit, but have seen that a lot of people say it is probably stronger than I am looking for.

I think the Wreck-Em line is a little too weak for me.  I just got rid of my Lights Out because it never found a proper home in my bag.  I have never looked much into the Roto Grip line, but the Dare Devil really looks like a good option.  It appears to be the IQ Tour of pearl balls, which is exactly what I am looking for.

I will talk to my proshop guy tonight about it.

I own the No Rules Pearl, Dare Devil, Code Black and Timeless. None of those balls are what I would consider a ball down from the others. The NRP is the strongest and the Timeless or Dare Devil would be the weakest, but they are all really close in strength. Just different ball motions really. You most likely aren't going to gain more control with a Timeless or Dare Devil when the Code Black is too much.

The IQ 30 or Hyroad Pearl would be better choices. Or the Wreck Em like someone said. I wish I had bought a Wreck Em or even a Hustle (looking at the POW) before I picked up the Dare Devil and Timeless. Luckily I have other balls to switch to when the shot goes. Or I just change my release.

Sounds like I need to look at the IQ30 or Hy-Road Pearl.  Thanks everybody.  I had a general idea of where I needed to go, but it helps to have some further clarification.

Daredevil is a great choice. I haven't thrown it but I do have the daredevil trick and it's awesome
