The El Nino 2000 features the Storm Accu-Tread coverstock material with TDR particles along with a DOUBLE LOAD of Mica added to the formula for an all new PRO-Thane Pearl. The new PRO-Thane Pearl coverstock is cleaner through the heads than the original PRO-Thane, gives a good mid-lane read for less over-under and produces exceptional energy on the back end of the lane for devastating pin action. Matched to this new PRO-Thane Pearl cover is an all new Motion Control weight block with Vertical Dual Density for built in mass bias. This Motion Control weight block constitutes medium rg (2.53) with sound differential (.060) for impressive track flare potential assuring strong recovery and outstanding back end reaction. The specifications are: Factory Finish: 1500-grit Polished; Radius of Gyration: 2.53 (Medium); Differential: .060 (High); Hook Potential: 20/18 (Dull/Shiny); Weight Block: Tri-Density Motion Control Weight Block; Coverstock: Red/Gold two-color PRO-Thane Pearl Particle; Hardness: 76-78; Length: 6 on a scale of 1-10; Back end: 10 on a scale of 1-10; Flare Potential: High (6" plus); Hook Potential: 20/18 (Dull/Shiny) on Storm's scale of 1-20; Recommended Lane Condition: Medium to Heavy Oil.

So far Storm has yet to disappoint me with any of their equipment.  They still haven't.  The 2000 is just what I was looking for.  I needed a ball that would get through the fronts and be very strong on the back end when the carry down came into play.

I set this up with the pin 1 1/2" left of the VAL, 4 1/2 from my PAP, and the MC2 in the strong position.  Man does this ball turn the corner!!!  I'm very impressed with the way it gets down the lane, stores it's energy and moves hard to the pocket.  I was surprised at the ease it took to get the ball throught he heads.  The cover feels like the LaNina cover and gets grittier (is that a word?) the more you bowl with it.

So far the last two Storm balls I have drilled, the La Nina and Fire Power, have served me well with a 846 and 814 respectivly.  I'm looking for the same from the 2000.

I decided on the El Nino 2000 for a medium condition.  I wanted this ball to have lots of length and a nice arc to the pocket.  With that in mind I layed out the El Nino 2000 as follows.(I am a right handed bowler)  The pin is located 2-1/4" from the cg.  I put the pin 5-1/8" from my axis which puts the pin under my fingers and a little left of grip centerline.(my horizontal coordinate is 5" over)  I put the cg 1/4" left of the center of the grip.  The MC2 lays to the left of the thumb hole.  This ball did not need a weight hole.  I went out on the lanes deciding to keep the ball in the oil line and played 12 to 8 with speed.  The ball went very long clearing the heads really nice like I wanted and turned strongly into the pocket.  It was not a snap but a strong arc.  I was amazed how hard this ball hit.  After shooting 2 decent games, I decided to open the lane and throw 12 to the dirt. The ball recovered nicely and hit even harder than playing the oil line.  I must say I was impressed with the length and the recovery I got with this lay out in the El Nino 2000.  I am going to do more testing in a house the has medium oil with some carry down to see how this ball performs.

This is the 2nd post to the El Nino 2000.  I have used this ball on lanes with carry down and the ball performs very well for me.  The main thing to remember this is a pearl ball.  Too much speed on carry down, the ball may not recover. The ball has not squirted on me at all. This amazes me considering how I layed the ball out.  I think this ball from storm is hte best ball they have manufactured.

Well I have to admit I have not thrown this ball yet, but I drilled one for a customer the other day, and the first three games with the ball were 268,300,276 =844. Yes it was sanctioned.  Going to the drill pattern, it was basically a stacked drilling with the pin,cg,mc2 all about 1 inch from the center line.  I was totally amazed my how cleanly it got through the heads and still finished excellent even he missed inside or swung it too far right.  The carry was impressive, all the pins stayed down and I feel that helped with the light hits.  I will be drilling one of these balls for myself soon after watching a tremedous feat of 844,300.  Hats of to the guys at Storm.

I have used most of the premium storm balls including the bolt, sky bolt, El Nino, Wrath, La Nina and now the 2000.  However, don't confuse me with a Storm guy.  I have had equal or better luck with some of my Brunswick equipment ( see my review of the Riot Zone ).  As for the 2000, I think someone has aready used this, but it sounds so good I am going to use it again.  The 2000 is the ball Storm probably wanted to make when they came out with the La Nina.  Not to disparage the La Nina.  A lot of guys like it, but even polished, it definitely burns up energy to quick to be any kind of an all purpose ball.  I drilled my 2000 with my favorite pattern for most of my Storm stuff.  Pin at about 4.5 inches just below the ring finger and the cg kicked out about 1.5 inches in thumb quadrant.  This allowed me to put a small hole below the axis to create a little more early flare.  Out of the box this one had a nasty habit of going long and turning hard on one shot then going long and laying back for a bucket on the next one.  This concerned me because my La Nina did the same thing and I never did really develop a liking for it.  However, after about 5 games the 2000 started to turn the corner pretty consistently.  I threw mine side by side with the Riot Zone first on a walled up pattern on wood with bad heads.  I then threw them both on an equally walled up brand new armor lane synthetic.  By the time I got to the synthetic my overall hook was about the same for the two balls.  However, the Zone tended to move earlier and ended up entering the pocket in a heavy roll from a strong angle.  The 2000 got more length and entered the pocket at an even more pronounced angle, but also with significantly more axis tilt.  Part, but not most of the difference can be attributed to the different drill patterns. Just a couple of words of caution.  My game is not to test the outward bounds of my swing area.  It is totally possible one of these balls, probably the 2000, would recover from a much larger overswing, but I can't be sure.  Second, the 2000, like most of my storm stuff does not lend itself to my "B" delivery.  I need to keep a fairly strong hand, ( by my low rev standards ) to make the 2000 perform.  The 2000 in many ways is similar t a bos condition El Nino but you never forget that you are throwing totally different surface characteristics.  The Riot by contrast is more verstile for the hand position changes I like to make.  In summary, some people have classified these two balls as alternatives to each other.  I think with slight variations in drilling they are pretty good compliments. If you are looking for different break points and roll patterns with similar overall hook potential on medium to oily conditions these might not make to bad a pair.

The only thing I can say here is WOW!  Today was the first time I got to try one ever.  It was the beginning of league... all the lanes were oiled at their max.  I threw that ball and I couldn't believe the results.  The ball was just past the arrows when it started to break.  Not only will the ball hook on the heaviest of oil, it doesn't hit like a noodle either.  I couldn't leave a ten no matter where I threw it in the pocket.  If you want a ball that hooks, try this one and you will be surprised... believe me!

Another great Storm product.  This is a great ball for anyone that has a pearl ball that is giving them over and under ball reactions.  This ball can be drilled like your favorite pearl and you won't see the over and under that you get out of your other pearl resin balls.  The differential and RG keep this ball on the lane for a while.  Although not the best ball to have when the heads are burnt up, this ball will stay on the lane longer than the other pearl "actives".  Great ball Storm.

I have had the El Nino 2k for about 3 months now and cannot complain.  I have raised my average and easy 20 pins.  The ball was drilled with the pin about 1.5" from ring finger (about 85% East of North), so it drilled relatively tame with a nice backend.  Being the good rev and good ball speed stroker that I am,  I'm able to destroy the pocket with consistancy.  The only problem that I have is when the ball gets on HEAVY OIL....  It goes way to long and doesn't snap like I would like it to on the backend.  I 'm getting the eraser for dryer condition because I heard it goes long and snaps,  but I need a remedy for heavily oiled lanes. I do,though, love this ball. On the right conditions it's deadly.

First of all: Thanks Sunny Hui and Purvis Granger for introducing the Storm balls to the Macau bowlers. Second: I love the reaction of the 2000. So I drilled the Pro Tour Edition to compliment my arsenal.

The 2000 has great length but the surprise is in the breakpoint. The power is tremendous, reminds me of the Track Enforcer, but htis one has more versatility and can be played in any lane conditions.

You almost can call it "a one ball arsenal". Due to my injuries and lack of time I am spinning the ball again, but I got a lot of trophies with this ball.

Thanks and Congratulations Storm!

I bought this ball about two weeks ago, but it seems like every game that I bowl with it has been a 200 or more.  It is a great ball.  I totally destroys the pocket when it finishes.  It skids great, doesn't have that violent skid snap, doesn't leave many ten pins and works well on medium/oily conditions.  I bowled my all time high of 670 yesterday.  I know this ball can get me that 300 that I have been dreaming of.

What a great ball by Storm.  I would recommend this ball to anyone who wants a ball with great carry and one of the most booming "dead pocket" shots around!

I have to say that the El Nino 2000 is the best ball in my bag right now.  How can Storm keep coming out with better and better equipment that just plain works!

Anyway back on Nov 7 (I know long time, but I have been out of town for a loooonnnggg time), anyway I wast just substituting on a league at the local house and it was just another bowling night in my eyes, another fun night of practice that is ... until the strikes started coming and rolling and just plain becoming to easy to get.  I just couldn't do wrong.  I was carrying everything in site and the ball was coming back from different angles from the one board to the 5 board also I threw it a very deep inside out angle (I'd say from the ten out to the 2 and back to the pocket)I tell you it was just plain destroying the pocket and leaving absolutely nothing (SOLID, PERFECT FLUSH HITS).  I ended up with my all time high 739 series and a 299 second game, took $110 from the local Nassau and made many "local pros" mad because I am only 23 and they are more than half my age and I was bowling like a champ.

Anyway this ball is so good that there is no way I can get rid of it JUST WAIT UNTIL I GET MY HANDS ON EL NINO X-IT

I CAN ONLY DREAM ABOUT WHAT THE SCORES WILL LOOK LIKE!  VERY HIGH!

10 OUT OF 10 (For anyONE that has read this far into the review 10 is AS close to perfection that I can honestly give this great STORM ball!)

This one was drilled up stacked levergae 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 with the balance hole bringing the ball to 3/4 side weight and 1/4 finger. 16-17 mph ball speed with medium revs. Shooting on a typical crowned top hat condition oiled to 36 feet with 10 to 10 being heavier oil.

Great hitting ball on the right condition. Ubfortunately the ball tends to react over under if yuo get in the dry too soon or skid in the heavier stuff. Yes the strong drill pattern on it does add to the over under problem but it still seems too touchy even with this drill on a very easy house shot. I'd rate it a 6 out of 10.

My gold is drilled to go long and hook hard on the end. Which it does when I play in side around the 6 or 7 board, but when this line is to dry, and ihave to move in deeper it comes in to late and leaves wash outs and ugly splits. I was thinking about getting 2000 and having it drilled to be really strong. If anyone thinks this would work better for me when i have to play adeeper line let me know.                                           STORM MAKES GREAT BALLS!            HAPPY BOWLING

Specs:
Righty
Med speed
High Revs

Laid this ball out with the pin 5 inches from pap, mass bias in strong position.

Wow, amzing house condition ball.  This one just sits and waits its turn, then on go the blinkers and see ya later.  This ball hits like no other, the only one that comes close is the Enforcer from track.

Looks sweet too.

This is my refrence go to ball.  If it hooks too much, go to the Fire Power, if it doesn't hook enough, go to the Xit or Nina.
