hy road
« on: November 27, 2015, 10:57:16 PM »
Juat had a hy road drilled.  I got it drilled to pick up early in the midlane.  My byte which is drilled for more length seems to rev up a lot more.  Is it cause of the drilling or the ball?  Any suggestions.  Also got a hyper cell skid (which I love) that revs up like crazy too.

It's probably just perception.  The HyRoad looks like a single color where the byte and skid shows rotation more easily.

That makes sense.  Never thought of that.

The Hy-Road does have a higher RG in comparison to the Skid and Byte.

The website says the bytes rg is 2.57 and the skid is the same as the hy road at 2.52.

The website says the bytes rg is 2.57 and the skid is the same as the hy road at 2.52.

15 lb. numbers:
Byte is 2.52 .044 .020 asymmetrical  https://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/classic/byte?search=&exclusiveClassic=false
Hy-Road is 2.57 .046 symmetrical https://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/hy-road
Hyper Cell Skid is 2.52 .056 .018  asymmetrical http://www.rotogrip.com/balls/hypercellskid

I'd suggest it's more the asymmetry/intermediate differential and layout plus lower Rg is the reason why the Byte and Skid are revving up earlier than the Hy-Road.  All 3 balls are designed to do different things and go about it differently.
