I just bought a Marvel Pearl and sanded it to 4000.  I absolutely love this ball, but now am looking for something to complement it when the lanes begin to break down.  Any suggestions?

You can never go wrong with the original Hy-Road.  That and the Motiv Sigma Sting IMO two of the best benchmark balls you can buy.
Current Ball Arsenal

MOTIV Mythic Jackal

MOTIV Trident Odyssey
MOTIV Forge Fire
MOTIV Covert Revolt

+1 for the original Hy-Road. It's been around this long and it's still great ball.

I also love the IQ solid, although I wouldn't really call it a compliment to my Marvel Pearl.  With its smooth look, I like it on shorter patterns, or places that I can play out on.  Marvel Pearl, when it is right, is a ball I just keep moving left with.

I beg to differ,  If I wanted to compliment and ball down I would be looking at.

Hyroad pearl
Uproar
Punch out

In that order
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

Actually I take back what I said.  IQ is a great compliment to the Marvel Pearl, just not in the sense of going to it when lanes break down.  Both very low rg balls, but solid shell and low diff give the IQ a much different look than the Marvel.

Bottom line you don't change balls when the lanes break down until after you have moved to re acquire the shot.  Then you may change balls to help your carry.

I agree with the posts...They are very similar in strength, just very different in look/what I need to do to keep carrying in games 3+.

I'm thinking of getting a hyroad to step down from the iq tour when needed...I just have fallen in love with such a controllable, smooth look that I get.

Iq solid--one of the best all-around balls available IMO.
