Nano Pearl
« on: September 02, 2014, 09:49:19 AM »
I was browsing our pro shop yesterday (mostly Storm/Roto from living in Utah) and saw we still have a Nano Pearl that unfortunately only has a 1/2 inch pin.

Getting ready for fall leagues, I figured out the one reaction im missing is the medium strength pearl that has enough backend reaction to handle carrydown that sometimes occurs.

Would the Nano Pearl be worth drilling with such a short pin?

I'm mainly using a Motiv Ascent Apex and a Hammer Blue Vibe. I had a HyRoad Pearl but it wasn't quite strong enough for what I needed before. I have the weaker side covered and the stronger side covered but nothing really in the middle.

16 mph
320 rev rate
about 15 axis tilt
about 45-50 axis rotation

Then don't worry about it. Drill fingers to China if you have to. Unless your span is over 5 inches, I wouldn't worry.

Is it worth drilling for what I'm looking for? I normally wouldn't ask this question, however, I feel like they would give me a deal on it

From what I know, it's a strong pearl. Probably leans more towards the strong side of medium. Not really knowing much about Storm stuff, other than the core numbers, a 5.5 inch pin to pap, pin down, mass bias at about 50 degrees might work.

Damn. I think if I could just pick one ball right now, I'd probably pick that one.
But I'm a college student so it's better if I go for the deals xD

Nano pearl is extremely strong and early rolling for a pearl.

Remember the Nano has particles. It's an early rolling pearl with not a huge amount of backend, given its core strength. It's probably better for higher speed to rev bowler or for someone with a lot of tilt than for a matched speed/rev bowler.
