New ball...
« on: March 03, 2017, 12:55:32 AM »
As the title states I'm in the market for a new ball my new code black was just too strong all night and I couldn't keep it on the right side of the head. When I broke out my tour pearl I hated the way it moved down lane. Any suggestions on what could fit behind my code black. Stranglely my Code Black came back around in my third game. It's the end of game one and game two that I struggle to get it to strike. Maybe need more practice lol

No offense, but if you're averaging 170-180 you don't have a problem with your spot "burning up" or other trendy phrases you read on the internet.

Couldn't disagree more.  While other problems might factor in for a 170-180 bowler, like missed spares or especially not being able to make lane-play adjustments, having your line dry up is a big factor in scoring or not if you can't adjust.

Thanks duva
While I agree that I am by no means a good player. I am attempting to get better I have an appt Wednesday with a coach to help me take it to the next level. What I do struggle with is loving left as I'm a fairly straight player. Maybe my spot isn't "burning up" but my code black becomes to aggressive to stay the same line. Maybe Wednesday I'll learn something that changes the way I feel and play. But right now come game 2 I really struggle to put the CB in the pocket. But game 3 I do just fine.

It may be possible that your Code Black may be too sharp off of the backend for the first couple of games causing it to cover a lot of boards and fail to hold line

The first thing an inexperienced player needs to learn is to move and find the oil.  Also watch where higher average bowlers are playing.  You may indeed need another ball to compliment your coe black, but the prior issues need to be answered first

Your correct I struggle to find that sweet spot and do kiss my spot Bc I overthink the shot all the time. I don't have a lot of rev and I try to force the rev by overthrowing the ball. I'm thinking of going the torrent to give me a total different look.

Alright narrowed it down to Torrent or Hyroad. Any advice?

I would go Hy-Road over Torrent for you. Torrent seems to be a really good release though so I'm not discounting it. I think the Hy-Road would let you relax more though and let the ball do the work more due to the Hy-Road's motion in general. The Hy-Road and Hy-Road Pearl are just those balls that tend to provide a sense of comfort that, you don't have to get crazy at the bottom to hope it moves.
