Why Storm Why????
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:14:16 AM »
Why make another hook monster???????  The Original Virtual Gravity hooked!! the Invasion Hooks!!!  sounds like the Virtual Gravity Nano is going to hook even more.  On your typical house shot there isn't enough oil to use the super strong bowling balls and Norm Duke even said on storm's website that the tour patterns are long BUT the oil volume is thin, so my guess is they won't need anything that super hooks on tour.  The only place in this country that puts out the FLOOD is the Bradley in Lexington Ky.  And you know what nothing and I mean nothing is going too hook down there.  Brian Himmler was throwing a brand new Theory that was dulled up and it went straight as an arrow at the Bradley.  And tour guys that bowled at the Bradley said that the shark isn't even as slick as the Bradley so why make super  hookers????? They are going to hook too much everywhere except at the Bradley

And that's what sells best. It is like the pick up truck in the USA - best selling car, but, honestly, who actually NEEDS it?

The people who need it are the up and coming bowlers and people who don't have hand. I would say a majority of people don't have much revs. And up and coming bowlers probably throw the ball straighter and closer to the middle part of the lane rather than playing the cushion. Just my opinion. As others have noted, the VG sold like crazy and is their all time best seller. So why not make another hook monster.....

The problem with socialism is, you eventually run out of other people's money too...

I would have to disagree on the typical house shot being dry outside the ten board. Anymore, I find that with everyone throwing aggressive balls inside the 10 board, and as far inside as the 25 board; often the only oil to be found is outside the ten where few people now throw the "no guts, no glory" Norm Duke shot. Typically there is also quite a bit of oil to the left of the 25 board but being a rightly that is less useful to me on the first ball - but worth knowing on spare shots.

public request to storm?  they just came out with the marvel it's a solid reactive that hooks a ton  It would be different if they re-released the Virtual Gravity but you can still get them from your distributors anyway

Isn't the marvel just a symmetrical VG with a different grit.. not entirely the same but I bet for most people it will roll the same given that most people layout asymmetricals so that the MB pretty much has no effect on the reaction.

Put a double thumb drilling on the marvel and take it to 4000 and you have yourself a VG..

So is that due to the core difference between the Marvel and VG.. The Marvel has the same coverstock as the VG.. right??  Just symmetrical vs Asymmetrical...
