Optimus Solid & Sky Rocket

Got a message from my distributor today about a couple of new balls coming out, optimus solid and sky rocket.

I had a feeling that we would be seeing a solid Optimus pretty soon but wasn't sure if they would release a hybrid first. 

US release date for both is 22nd June.

I can't wait to get my hands on the Optimus Solid, i did like the original Optimus but found it too condition specific and a little jumpy for my liking, I'm hoping that the solid cover will solve that issue.

As for the Sky rocket, I've found that the original is useful after the lanes start to break down and at the moment can't see that i would have the need for it.  But saying that I'll probably somehow still end up drilling one up...  :-\

Maybe the rocket power had really good reviews...so they went forward with a very similar variant.

Is it me or does the Optimus Solid have the same color scheme as the Robo-Rule from a few years back?

Couple of things I saw in video:

1) The announcer guy needs to go to an orthodontist.
2) I really like the overlay of the pattern over a few of the shots, that is really cool and helps show why they are playing the lanes where they are.
3) I was surprised they had the Solid so low in the line-up, I was thinking this would be more on the heavier side of things, but they have more towards the middle.
4) I think I enjoyed this video much more having the sound muted.

Just my thoughts, yours may differ wildly.

While watching the video I noticed at 54 seconds when they show the layout of the ball, to the left of the middle finger it looks like the cover says NRG, even though the R2X Solid is suppose to be on the Optimus Solid.

The guy who's in the video lacks any sort of charisma or personality, though.  I wish Steve Kloempken had done it.  But it's still an opportunity to see the ball roll a little bit.
