I dont do reviews often but I do voice my opinion at times, this is one of them. I am a HUGE believer in not every ball is for everyone and all though reviews are great, especially the honest reviews, the only way to tell is to throw the ball yourself....

Specs: 13.5 mph (slow), 350 revs, 17 tilt, 45-60 rotation

Going back to having to throw the ball yourself. I am one of the only people in history to hate the Hyroad. For me OB it was too long and snappy and with surface the motion was crappy, again for this is for me. I drilled 3 over the years(different layouts) because I couldnt believe it didnt work for me. It was frustrating to listen to everyone and seeing others throw it and it looking incredible in their hands.
Then ordering a Code Black and seeing the same thing on a bigger scale and even worse. I only drilled one but knew it was an issue and sold it after about 10 games and multiple surfaces.
Now 2 off my favorite balls all time are the Nomad solid and Lights Out. Both have been and still are money for me.

Enter the Timeless, I was torn on getting the ball. I kept thinking Hyroad and Code Black all over again. Then with all the negative reviews I was certain it wouldnt be for me, but because I have serious ball buying issues, I bought it anyway. I can tell you Im glad I did.

Drilled 40x4x60.....Pin under ring, cg kicked out and a P3 hole. My favorite drilling.
The ball was too clean and a bit snappy during practice, I hit the surface with a 4000 pad to remove the polish and the ball became exactly what I wanted. Its clean through the front, reads the mids and charges to the pocket. It made a stronger move than I expected to see, but was till a controlled move. I did leave three 9 pins in a row in game one, but that was early on clean backends. As the frames went on the ball looked awesome. If I tugged inside it held its line and still finished(THS) and if I leaked it out right it charged back. I couldnt be more impressed. I shot decent, didnt light up the scoreboard, my spare game sucks right now, but am confident I will see big scores with it.

3 Timeless thrown in my league last night. 1-300 game, 2 bowlers shoot well over 700, and It looked great in all of our hands. All one handed with different styles.
It may not be a ball for everyone, it may not meet the marketing hype, but for me its a nice ball, nice motion that will be in play often

vkowalski1970,

Living here in Utah I've started to see several, and it looks good when used on the right part of the lane.  What you did to yours is what I have to do to lots of balls, by just breaking the surface a little.  It can be a huge difference on the lanes as far as being able to read the pattern more accurately, so kudos to you for tweaking the surface.

I have spent lots of time in the pro shop here for over 15 years, and lots of customers bring their equipment to me to help them dial it in for reaction and carry.  I'm glad to help because when I help them with their Storm (or other company's) ball they realize that I do care.  That goes a long way when they want advice regarding their next purchase.  Happy bowlers spend money, whether it be practicing, or buying accessories and equipment.  Best of luck as you throw your new toy.

To me, almost every Storm ball Ive ever had that came factory polished didn't perform well until the polish was worn off, or I actually took the polish off with 3000-4000 grit.

Something about that polished Storm finish just doesn't seem to work for me.

Same here. Even if I redo the polish with my own surface, it rolls so much better. I believe Charest pointed that out before.

You must have some kind of weird something going on where you're at to hate 3 Hyroads and a Code Black lol.  The only thing I can think of is that you actually have the kind of oil volume they design these balls for.

I noticed the out of box finish was a bit harder to manage and reaction seemed to be inconsistent at times. With that being said, once the ball soaked up some oil, the reaction became a lot more predictable and controllable and reads the mid-lane at an unprecedented level.

I'm a 2-handed cranker with a high rev rate and throw 17-19 mph. But, with the Timeless I've actually slowed down my ball speed to 15-16 mph as well as my rev rate and got much better results, (which is why a handful of one handers are vouching for it).  My league is average is 195 and my first week of league with the timeless I shot my first 700 series. Could've been a lucky night, but the consistency of the ball is amazing.

I could never figure it out. The Hyroads we very over under and almost too long and smooth with surface for me. The code black was also very over/under at box and very sporadic with surface. My friend threw my code black and it looked great for him.
Now I'd take a nomad Solid at any surface over either ball. That ball and I owned 4 rolled great for me. 4 different drillings and almost every surface I could manage.
