Reign supreme
« on: September 28, 2014, 01:06:40 PM »
A friend of mine who works in a bowling alley saw a Reign Supreme laying around all summer and no one threw it or even moved it. All the leagues have already started and it still hasn't been touched, so he decided to give it a throw since it fits his hand. He hasn't shot under 700 with it yet with a 298 last Thursday. Last Sunday, he let me throw it for a little while and I absolutely love it. I notice the Reign On also had the CAM core with a hybrid cover. I am not a technical person, so I am wondering how close these two balls are? The reaction I got out of the supreme is making me reconsider my Primal Rage...

the reign on and reign supreme are literally the same ball. different colors and different finishing surface. they probably just updated the R2S hybrid cover to handle the thicker oils of today like they have been doing with the hyroad but if you put the surface to what the reign supreme was OOB (1500 polished i think) you will get the exact same ball

Picked one up last year on my Pro-Shop owners advice.  I asked for something to fill a gap in my bag and told him what I had.  Ended up going +11 in a regional that weekend with it (chameleon)  Would have been a lot higher +60 or so except 1 bad game and 1 pair with no carry.  Never put the ball down all 8 games.  It just kept on rockin.   Really heavy rolling ball for me with more punch than the IQTour I throw as well.  Have been EXTREMELY impressed with it thus far.  First Reign line ball I've ever thrown.

The Wiseman has the CAM core as well. You can usually find them pretty cheap when they hit ebay.

Just had my Wiseman arrive today.  My understanding is the same core with an increased differential to .55 from .48.

The coverstock looks different from the Reign Supreme also.  Reading up on it I believe the Wiseman is a pearl the Supreme a hybrid.  Mine arrived quite dull.
I bought based on a real nice video I saw of it!  We'll see!

I believe these balls are hit and miss with bowlers.  A friend of mine and a very good bowler got rid of his Supreme in days!  He loves however almost all balls of the Columbia Eruption series.

High RG Reigns vs Low RGs (Eruptions) I think!

Can't wait to throw my Wiseman!

im the same way as your buddy. higher RG cores only work for me in transition when there is a large defined friction spot. they are just too squirly for me otherwise. even the solids i dont like to see a ball that clean on the fresh

I will say this....this core is very smooth and when used with the right surface creates a lot of area on a top hat and a lot of hit from both inside and outside.

The term CAM or continuous Axis Migration is so True.  Smooth driving flare towards the hole....no jump!
