Simplicity
« on: January 12, 2018, 08:37:33 AM »
Spark to this thought is how Jesper basically only uses urethane. My favorite ball is the Hy-Road Pearl. If I could just use two of them to cover most conditions that would be bliss. Anyone ever try it with 2k on it?

I REALLY prefer darker/solid(ish) colored equipment and I wonder if I could run with one of the lineups like below and cover THS (of course) but also a majority of sport.

Code Black OOB
Marvel Pearl OOB
IQTS OOB
Hy-Road Pearl 2K (Maybe larger VAL Angle)
Hy-Road Pearl OOB
Hustle Ink OOB

Or

Hy-Road Nano OOB
Hy-Road OG OOB
Hy-Road Pearl OOB
Hustle Ink OOB
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

Most guys on these boards have a way bigger arsenal than is necessary, especially for house shots.

I agree but there are some different situations. Our shot can change drastically depending on who you're bowling with and against.

First to admit it but too old to collect Hot Wheels and at least I drill up everything I buy lol.  Throw most of it regularly as well.  Three ball roller is all I take to league though.

Of course it can.  Most people try to change balls to stay in a comfort zone .  it doesn't work.  On a house shot I can take a tame ball like a vibe to play relatively straight out around the oil line, and something strong on the back end when I move in further.

Maybe I get my footwork a little more solid and a Hy-Road will be enough even for the fresh.  Be nice to only use one strike ball for league.

For league, I have basically 3 balls I use. Boost, Mission, and Code Black. Boost is at 2000 for the fresh, Mission has a little surface just in case I need a faster response with teeth, and Code Black to unleash in the late midlane to backend transition. Don't average anything crazy right now since I'm trying to practice for sport tournaments that require more focus on fundamentals and mental game.
League: Pitch Purple, Destiny Magenta
Testing: MVP
Interests: Black Widow, Proof Solid, Idol Pearl

And in some houses it does...
Shot my best set of season on Thur, 759, changing balls each game and staying in my comfort zone.

I am a ball whore as well and as someone else said on the board I am too old to collect hot wheels and it's cheaper than collecting cars.... :D

In regards to the OP. Have you concidered other manufacturers.  I know I'm kind of a lonely only on this but I have a AMF nighthawk stealth se that just won't give up the #1 spot in my bag. The ball works on a wide variety of conditions and is the most accurate ball I own. I continue to try to replace it with other balls to no avail.

Hmmm...  ???  Sorta like women and their shoe collections.  ;D If my woman had, would cut back on about 50% less shoes, I could afford more than my 5 ball arsenal.  ::)

I love my Nighthawk Stealth.  Very smooth!

Doom. You won't be sorry you did but you'll have to buy another one so you have an extra when you wear out the first.

That ball used to always come up when I would do searches for my Lane 1 Stealth Bomber.  Damn did I buy the wrong stealth ball.  Oh well you live and learn and shed a tear more for Beans polish (glad got big ass bottle) than Lane 1s crappy balls.  That would be the AMF ball I would get for sure.  Have some of their urethane and even rubber from back in the day.
