Storm Marvel Pearl video and written review
« on: November 04, 2017, 04:42:51 PM »

There is probably nothing new that we can say about the Marvel Pearl, one of the most popular balls Storm has ever produced... That is why Storm decided to bring back this ball and they definitely did the right thing. This ball truly delivers.

For me the Marvel Pearl is one of those balls that you always need in your bag. It is a pearl, but it is not snappy or clean or angular as most of the pearlized balls that are in the market today. The Marvel Pearl has a strong midlane read and a strong, but controllable backend motion.

The Marvel Pearl is what I call a house shot killer. It blends the pattern quite nicely, is not too jumpy when it hits the friction and is not too clean to miss the breakpoint in case you miss inside your mark.

I was able to play in my comfort zone with the Marvel Pearl throughout the whole session. I started laying out the ball around second arrow and having the 5th board as my breakpoint. The Marvel Pearl provided me a smooth, predictable shape with a strong and continuous downlane motion. I was able to play up the boards with it or moving in quite a bit and the ball provided me the same motion shot after shot. I had a hard time missing the pocket with this ball, even on my bad shots, I still had great carry with it.

The Marvel Pearl is smooth and predictable as a solid but it also has a strong backend motion as pearlized ball. It gives you a great balance of both worlds.

On sport shot patterns, this ball is also a valuable weapon when your stronger ball produces too much friction and you need something a tad cleaner with more shape down the lane without being too angular.

The Marvel Pearl offers a lot of control on these conditions while it is also clean through the fronts and keeps the same strong but controlled backend motion.

This ball will be a great option on everything but the extremes. On patterns with a higher volume of oil the Marvel Pearl might be not enough ball, unless you are a rev dominant bowler. On lower volumes patterns or drier conditions, the Marvel Pearl might be a tad stronger and can be difficult to control at times, but on most medium oil conditions, the Marvel Pearl will be a great option.

Overall, the Marvel Pearl is a versatile ball that will fit into a lot of different bowling styles. This is one of those balls that will be helpful in a variety of different conditions and a ball that will always find a spot in your bag. Storm did the right thing bringing the Marvel Pearl back.

Thank you for watching!

Was thinking should have held off on picking up the Hy-Road pearl for this ball until I saw the price.  Ouch.  Not $50 better.  Only thing I regret about the Hy-Road pearl was getting it in 16lb thinking it would make much of a difference (doesn't seem to).  Still this ball is a legend for a reason I suppose.

Ball is quite unique. I love my Hy-Road Pearl. Marvel Pearl is a legend in itself as well.
