Where is the love for this ball? I find it to be a house shot killer for someone on a budget.

I believe that is because it is far too skid/flip for such a light oil ball, from what I have seen.

It is release sensitive. If you have a very rolly release or very low tilt release or a low rotation angle, it could be good for you.

I have a 400a and can somewhat agree to this - as a I have medium tilt and high rotation, it has been inconsistent for me.  Some nights, it is "the" ball to throw and other nights not so much.  I was a big fan of the 607a (which had a very consistent ball motion for me) so I was hoping this would be a little bit of a step down from that with similar consistency...nope.

It will stay in the bag though for now as my low-end pin-up (lower VAL angle) pearl.  I just have to get a few boards deeper and be soft with it to allow it to get into a roll early enough but not have it overreact to the dry, which is what it wants to do...

Makes sense to me why you struggle with it.  607A Low Rg medium total diff. symmetrical ball.  400A High Rg high total diff. symmetrical.  Depending on your tilt and axis rotation with condition the 607A is not going to go nuts off the friction where the 400A could snap off the side to side friction and backend especially if you are a lefty. 

I'd hazard a guess the bowlers that are going to like the 400A more are low tilt forward roll players with not a lof of axis rotation that may take a 4000 pad to it's OOB surface.  I am unsure of the cover differences between the balls.

For me and my experience with this ball, it was not very snappy at all.  Track said it was going to be a booming back end ball, to compete with the "gold" ball.  It didn't recover well at all for me.  I'm on my second one, drilled "Rico", which I usually don't like, but I took a flyer, and it rolls great.  I also knocked the shine off, going 1000, 3000 no polish, and this ball is sweet.  Needs some oil up front, but is controlled down lane.  Continues through the pins very well.  The Tour X is the snappy one!!

Seen a few players with this ball, but only one that I know of who uses it on house shots regularly. It's skid/snappy for sure and kind of reminds me of my Track Project-X. It looks a little condition sensitive to me, but that's just me.

I wanted to revisit this as the 400a has now become a house shot killer in my main house.  While still shot specific, I've learned when and where the high RG/high diff core of this ball will shine.  I've been averaging over 230 with this ball over the last 3 months.  I'm definitely glad this ball has stayed in my arsenal.

My issue with the 400a was it was very flippy and for me unpredictable. I am sure I didn't repeat the exact same shot but close enough and I would get two different results. I would either get a jerk off the spot or it seemed like it would squirt through the break point.

I did the normal changing of surfaces and such and just couldn't get it to match up for me.

There are a lot of people that loved the ball. I for one didn't match up well with it.

The TourX is what I thought the 400a was going to be. I like my TourX.
