Personally, I absolutely LOVE the 706 C/A from Track as it fits my game perfectly. Ball speed around 17.25, rev rate 375-380 RPMs.. Preferred starting target 7-8 board 40-42 feet down lane.
What I like for myself:
706 C/A is very clean through the heads, and very angular on the back end. This is my benchmark ball and I feel like I can get 3-4 games out of it easily in most competition settings. The cover is very adjustable. Use it polished when I need more length and pop down lane, use it dull when I need a more continuous mid lane motion. I can play a lot straighter with 706 C/A vs 706T and 714C. I can also move deeper into the lane than I can with 714C. Doesn't handle as much oil as 706T but still gives a reliable read in some heavier volumes. I feel like with 706 C/A, 706T, and 714C, I have a good range of bowling balls in three ball bag to tackle any fresh to partially broken down condition.
What is see with others:
706 C/A may be a little too clean through the heads out of the box for bowlers with very high ball speed. Usually have to dull the surface down a bit to see the ball pick up well. 706T seems to fit the bill more than 706 C/A. For the very rev rate bowlers who like to start real deep in the lane, I don't see as much responsiveness down lane. Seems like the ball wants to make a big move, but runs out of lane. A 910A would probably be a better choice for the Track fans in this category..
I rate 706 C/A, 7 out of 10. It may not fit in the bag for what everyone is expecting out of a upper mid-performance ball, but is still a good ball to have in the arsenal.
