I am looking to get a track ball to go above my 400a. Is the new heat too similar in strength? I was also considering the tour x solid because of the core.

I would go with the Tour SiC. I don't think you'd see enough difference with the Tour X Solid or Heat

They have the same cover but the Legion has a stronger core.

Another option if you're ok sticking within EBI would be the Hammer Viral Solid with a stronger layout and sanded surface

The Legion could work as well it is more then the 400a and less then the Legion Solid.
